Is there a way to find good deals for the Howard Johnsons - Anaheim (the one a block or two from the DLR main entrance)?

I think there used to be deals through the Anaheim coupon book, but I thought I heard that deal no longer exists. I'm searching for some dates in June and the cheapest I find on their site is $186 per night.

Sign up for their emails and read their message board, they occasionally offer discounts (unlikely in June, however). They offered an AP discount of 30% off in January, for example, but you can get 20% the rest of the year if you have an AP (code LNAP). Mousesavers has a general public discount code of 15% off (code LKMS).

The days of the great entertainment rate are long gone, unfortunately.

I've read by other posters that in the past, HoJo was around the $100/night mark. I haven't seen anything near that, even with the AP discount. 15% Mousesavers rate is what got us hooked the first time. Then we got APs, so we were able to save another 5%. May not seem like much, but when you have a 7 night trip, it's $50+.

I'm just curious as to what affect the new Courtyard will have on HoJo, since it looks like it will have a beefed up waterpark. Of course, it probably won't open until very late in June, so it may not make a difference for you.

It is worth to check with travel agents too - I thought booking direct would always be the cheapest option but when we booked our flights and accommodation with a travel agent the price came down quite a bit for us :sunny:

I heard a Courtyard is opening across the street which will have a water park too so I expect HoJo's to need to compete big time so I'd think there could be some discounts/lower rates coming after Courtyard is open in July.
We use the AP rate at HoJo's which makes HoJo's nearly 1/3 the price of GCH (we get the kids suite at HoJo's ).

I am still trying to figure out why Howard Johnson got rid of their entertainment rate.

Since they added the spray ground and Carsland opened, they haven't needed to offer deep discounts.

I have read that the new Courtyard is being developed by the owner of Hojo's so they must think there is room in the market for both hotels to flourish.

I think the new Courtyard will be a higher end hotel. I expect its rates to be similar to Paradise Pier by the looks of it. Hojo will still attract the same crowd if the price is right.

Across that little side street from Hojo's behind Mimi's is my understanding.

Oh, you mean where the haunted house once stood? To this day, it is said that eerie sounds may be heard at around midnight. Especially bad on Friday the 13th, which by the way is coming up. So watch yourselves, if you might find your way in that area. :faint:

When we went in 2012 I believe we scored an entertainment rate of $69/night for a deluxe queen room for 6 nights. Unfortunately it sounds like the entertainment rate is no longer being offered.

Best I can hope for at HoJo is their elusive 50% off rates. Their staff is PHENOMENAL at helping get all that sorted out and changing reservations and all sorts of stuff.

Hi there! Like other posters have mentioned, if you sign up for our email promotions, we will send you an email when we have a discount of up to 50% off our regular room rate (on select dates). If you have specific dates in mind, many guests book the dates they want, then if the 50% discount becomes available, they call our in-house reservations team to see if the discount can be applied to their reservation. If it can, we are more than happy to adjust your rate.

We also have discounts if you are a Disneyland AP holder, a AAA member, have a military id, and a special discount for reading DisBoards. The DisBoards discount is a 15% discount off our regular room rate, and to get this discount you just have to mention DisBoards to the reservationist or enter the code LNDB online. (We will take the highest discount you mention, but unfortunately we cannot combine discounts).

HTH,

Thank you for the codes! I just booked a special trip for Sept 26 - Oct 3! My 10th wedding anniversary, my 45th birthday, and my daughter's 9th birthday. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Disney will have a Halloween party at least one of the nights we are there!
