Dealing with morning sickness in the parks.

I feel your pain. I lost 17 lbs in the first trimester during both of my pregnancies.

One thing I found late in pg #2 was crushed ice. Someone told me to try crushed ice, something about the colder it was the less likely it was to come back up. Disclaimer: I have no idea if this is true, but someone told me that and it did work for me. I googled it, and it came up with a lot of responses under home remedies. The nice thing is you could easily get that and refill it at many places (any that had fountain sodas) at WDW. I bet they'd even just keep refilling the ice for you for free if explained why.

Fountain Coke or Pepsi (has to be from a fountain) also helps me too... but I shied away from that during pg.

Starlight peppermints and saltines were the only things I could keep down some days with all three pregnancies. Talk to your doctor about trying another anti-nausea medicine. Be sure that your family knows that you would give anything to feel better, but if you say that you need to get out of the heat they have to be understanding and allow you to try to feel better. With good support you'll still have a good trip even if your stomach isn't cooperating. Three weeks can make all of the difference with morning sickness, so I will keep my fingers crossed for you!

Yes the Phenegran is making me sooo sleepy... which I honestly think is adding to how crappy I feel. Like I just don't have an ounce of energy... which is definitely not the norm for me! Instead of waiting until my next appt. I think I'm going to give my dr. a call today to see about getting on Zofran. My dh said he doesn't care if we have to pay out of pocket for it... he just feels bad for me because I always feel like crap!

No way to postpone the trip. My girls are 14 and 10 and start their fall sports as soon as we get back. And with the oldest being in high school now I can't pull her out of school. Plus my dh had to basically sell his soul to take 2 1/2 weeks off in a row. :lmao: Not to mention we rented points for the DVC resorts and have already paid for it in full.

So we WILL be going regardless. And my kids don't know yet that I'm pregnant... although I think my oldest is starting to figure out something is up. :rolleyes1 We are telling them in a few weeks. I know they'll be understanding of me not feeling well and not being able to do everything. But I REALLY want to be able to enjoy this trip! Here's hoping that the Zofran helps!! :goodvibes

Just a warning, but when I was on Zofran it was $33 A PILL :scared1: I took 3 a day so it was very expensive prescription, but luckily my insurance covered it. My insurance would only pay for 5 day supply at a time, so I still had the $30 copay every 5 days which really added up. I am not sure if there is a generic now or if the cost has come down since it was a couple years ago, but I would find out the cost first if you have to pay out of pocket for it!

I believe there is a generic now for Zofran. My insurance wouldn't cover it when I was pregnant six years ago and I'm allergic to Phenergan, so there wasn't much I could do. It took me this long to want another baby because I remember what being sick was like!

for the ice- you can ask for ice at any of the stands that sell fountain drinks. They should give you a cup of it without any trouble. We did that all the time last yr when my friend was pg at the parks with us

I sooo understand. When they get into high school you're life is no longer your own. Taking a high schooler out for a Disney trip? :scared1: Can you say "summer school"? I have a 16yo. They're on block scheduling, which means if you miss 3 days it's like missing a whole week. Ugh.

Get the Zofran even if you have to pay out of pocket. Just get enough to cover your trip. You'll probably be more alert. That phenergan always wipes me out. All i want to do is sit in a chair and vegetate.

Good luck with the trip, though. I'd almost envy you, except for the whole pregnant-in-Orlando-in-the-summer thing :scared:

I don't have any good ideas for you- just empathy- I am right there with you. I am 24 weeks and finally stopped vomiting daily at 21 weeks. I have used all of the meds mentioned (luckily zofran was covered for me) but nothing helped for very long. I still get sick occasionally, but my energy is getting better. Maybe it will be better by the time you leave. I hope you have a great trip and find something that will work for you!
