Dealing with a late seating and young children

I skimmed through the replies, but are you waiisted for early dining?

Ours always came through when thr kids were young right at around 9 days before the cruise

This is what we do. On our kids first cruise they were 8 and 6. We do late seating and usually swim during early seating as we're not big show people. The pools really clear out and it's so nice. My boys are also not big on long sit-down dinners and like to eat and head out to the clubs. We used to use dine and play, which is so convenient, and now they can just head up to the clubs themselves.

A great time for the mickey slide and aquaduck!

DD was 3 and we had late seating. The first night we tried to have her power through dinner, and she was tired. The 2nd night we took advantage of having the counselors come take her 45 minutes in, and that was better. The 3rd night we fed her before dinner (pizza!) and took her right to the club. Wish we had done that every night!

It was so cute at dinner though, they had a booster seat for her and brought her fruit in a little compote, and she had a special cup (paper) with stickers on it. I had grand plans of dressing her up for dinner in her princess dresses, but she kept falling asleep.

The last night when we brought her straight to the club - she had a blast. And we actually enjoyed dinner.

My boys were 6 and 3 on the last cruise and we had second seating. It worked out great (and my kids aren't night owls). We did the dine & play a couple of nights, did an early room service another night and each fell asleep on a chair at least one night. We tucked them in with the cloth napkins. Lol

I liked not rushing off port/from the pool. We actually skipped most of the shows because I much preferred putting on a movie, ordering room service snacks and having a cocktail while I got ready. It made for a more enjoyable evening. And that down time helped them get through dinner.

This time, we wait listed for 1st, got it, and then I switched back to second! Lol
