deal or no deal?

I have a question for all you seasoned DVC owners. My DH and I are on the fence about if we want to jump at the chance to do the add-on promotion at AKV (we can afford it,just not thrilled to add a monthly bill), or every year do they do somekind of promotion a few times a year? We know that by Oct 2009 we will need to do an add-on. We also know that BLT points might be up for sale with in this time frame-but we know that the cost of those points we most likely will not be able to touch. I know this is all a personal choice, but are we dumb to let this current promo go, or do you feel something else is always around the corner? Just want some wise wisdom Thanks

There is always a promo of some sort going on, not just a few times a year. The guides, being salespeople who need to close the deal, can make you feel like you'll be missing the deal of a lifetime if you don't buy NOW, but that's just not the case. I bought in 2001, and I've been reading these boards daily since then. I can't remember a time when there wasn't some kind of deal being offered.

I agree with Lynne. Seems like there is always something. I tend to think it is going to take a while to sell out AKV. If BLT comes on line in 2009, I think it is a good bet that there will be incentives to buy AKV. But that's JMHO. YMMV.

Our guide said of course there will be another incentive coming along....but he also told me "it won't be as sweet at the current one ending in Sept". I do like our guide and we never feel pushed into anything with him. We were going to just add on to SSR. He said he could find us a small add on with our UY with no problem. So he wasn't pushing AKV. Oh by the way...we added on at AKV instead.
