Having a very hard time figuring this out:

If I buy a Platinum AP today online (I have MDE etc.) - the 13 month promo that ends today - when is the deadline to activate and get the 13 months?

I've heard 18 months, I've heard end of calendar year in which you purchase, but neither of those are in the fine print when you buy the AP. (No I don't want to phone - ever, for anything - and wouldn't rely on what the phone CM says anyway.) The online chat person couldn't find the answer.

I'm hoping 18 months - until late April 2018.

Thanks, ravenclawtrekkie - that covers my 'worst case' (longest time).

Tried online chat again at disney's site: "Emma" said there's no deadline - never has been for APs - and that includes the 13 month promo AP voucher.... (I specifically followed up with "and still get 13 months.") I printed the chat session to save.

I just bought ours which we won't activate till November. I keep hearing 18 months as well but don't see that anywhere in any of the disclaimers or terms of the offer. Without something in writing - I'd say if you bought you have a 13 month pass whenever you activate (although I'm not going to be the one to test that out . . .)

We purchased three gold ap certificates last month while at Disney. When I hooked them to my mde account, it says they expire in late April of 2018.

A day late and a dollar short.

I just made entries on the calendar for my next trip, Apr 2018. Then I remembered they were offering 13 months on the AP. So decided to check to see if I bought now and activated then, if I would still get the bonus. Then I see it ended 2 days ago.

Oh Well. That is what I get for procrastinating on my 2018 plans.

I don't understand your meaning.

You said that you bought "certificates."

Do you mean you renewed - or purchased and activated- actual APs?

Oh well, dang it! It never occurred to me that I could buy the voucher during the promo, activate it later and STILL get the 13 months. Argh. Oh well.

This is what the Disney website says when I go to purchase a new AP. I looked in to it a couple of days ago. It sounds like the 13 months is only renewals.

Important Details

If you are renewing a pass, a special pass offer is available. The offer is not valid for water park passes, passes previously purchased or the purchase of new passes, and cannot be combined with other discounts or offers. Renewal passes are 13 consecutive months, nontransferable and nonrefundable. Blockout dates apply to certain pass types.

The Disney website is chock full of bad (or just poorly-written) info.

We have current AP's that expire in July. this is what it looks like in MDE.

DVC Member Gold Pass 13 for 12 - New Certificate
Age: 10 and older
Expires: Monday, April 30, 2018

All three of these new certificates are transferrable in MDE.

Does this look right, as I see other people have a deadline of 2030 on their new AP certificates.

On second look, my sister's new pass has the 2030 deadline:

DVC Member Gold Pass 13 for 12 - New Certificate
Age: 10 and older
Expires: Tuesday, December 31, 2030

Maybe I need to call Disney ticketing!

On another thread it was mentioned that renewals had into September to get the 13 month promotion. My pass expired on January 3rd,the day the promotion ended.I was trying to renew online since like December 29th and just kept getting error messages so I ended up going to the guest relations in Disney Springs to renew it.I got the 13 months but they told me renewals also had to be done by January 3rd.Luckily my pass expired on that date and I went in to take care of it,if it would have expired at the end of the month I probably would have put it off thinking I would still get the 13 months and would have been wrong.
