Can someone tell me where you enter this code? Is it on the PayPal site as you're paying? I think I remember a place for "codes", but I wanted to make sure before I pay.

And is the total about the item plus shipping? Like if I buy a $40 item with $15 shipping, do I qualify for the $5 off $50?

Nope - just off the price of the item BEFORE any shipping charge.

When you log onto paypal there is a box to check saying you will enter an e-bay or paypal code. Then the code box will come up on the payment page and you can click to apply the code to make sure the savings are there before you click the final pay button.
