I've never been to Alfredos before but I do like Fettuccini Alfredo. So when I heard that Alfredo's was closing on 8/31 I thought this will be my last chance to eat here and I made an 8/30 dinner reservation for 1.

Now I'm reconsidering it. I keep hearing a lot of people say how bad the restaurant is and some saying it's good. I've also heard that during the last week it's open they may start running out of food and they may have a limited menu. Plus I wonder how much of a mad house the restaurant will be the day before they close. With all of this in mind I was thinking about just changing to somewhere else in the EPCOT area.

Currently on this trip I have ADRs for Le Cellier, The Coral Reef and Spoodles in the EPCOT area. I could change the ADR to Yachtsman or maybe Marakkesh or somplace else that you guys suggest. :)

What would you do?

It's been alittle while since I've been there and I can easily say it's still the best Alfredo I've had! Yum! Stick with it and no worries! Enjoy!

I ate there in September with my sister and her husband and we all really disliked the food! It was just bad, IMHO. I had the fettuccini alfredo and hated it. It was unlike any alfredo I'd ever had. :confused3

That said, you may really enjoy it! If I were you, I'd probably just go and give it a try.

That rumor that the resturaunt would have a limited menu was hogwash last I checked. If you think about it, you'll see it doesn't even make good business sense.

It won't be a madhouse because although many people might WANT reservations, the resturaunt will still only be accepting as many reservations as it can handle at any given time period.

As for reviews. EVERYONE is going to have a different opinion, some good some bad. A good rule of thumb i've found is that if more than 70% of the reviews seem bad then maybe the reviews are worth paying attention to. Otherwise go and make your own opinion.

That being said I think whatever decision you'll make you'll be happy! It's Disney You can't go wrong! Good Luck!

Try it! One dining experience that you will never be able to have again.

We have eaten here a few times. The food has always been excellent, the service less than stellar. We are skipping it the next trip to try some new places.

Whatever you decide to do, enjoy!

When we went there a few years ago we thought the food was just okay and the service wasn't great. The service, though, depends entirely on your server and their mood, and the food may have improved.

If you're a fettuchini alfredo connoiseur, I think you should do it. Even if it's not very good, at least you'll have experienced it. Then you can always remember:

"Alfredo's didn't have great pasta, but it was fun trying it."

or maybe...

"Man! That fettuchini alfredo at Alfredo's was awesome! I'm so glad we went before it closed." :thumbsup2

We went to this restaurant a couple years ago and didn't think it was great. Then we went to it twice in the last six months and it was great both times. We're sad to see it go! I agree you should try it - worst case scenario it's one bad meal. I don't think it's any more likely to have a bad meal at Alfredo's than anywhere else.

Thanks for the reassurances guys! I'm going to keep the reservation. You're right this will be my last shot to eat here and even if it's bad I'll have plenty of other great meals this trip.

Guess I'm chirping in too late--.
What I'd REALLY do is try Il Mulino. It's Italian and "sort of" in the Epcot area.

We ate there in March and it was awful! Much smaller portions and the food was not good. Very different from our previous meals there.

I may be too late but my last experience was so bad back in March of this year, I swore I would never step inside that restaurant again and we have had some positive experiences there in the past.

When a restaurant is hit or miss, in my opinion, then I am not taking a chance with my stomach or my pocketbook.. I have to wonder why it is closing after all these years......

I agree with Uncleromulus here, I would try Il Mulino and I will try it myself when I visit again..

Also, can I recommend Raglan Road, we had a great experience there, good food, entertainment, we enjoyed it immensely.

Keep it!!! We just ate there last week, for the first time. A friend of mine raved about it so I booked an ADR there, later decided to change it and by the time I got around to calling to change there was nothing else available. During July 4th week ADR's were amazing hard to come by!

So we went in feeling like we were stuck with having to eat there and were completely surprised with a fantastic meal and great service. I had the fettucini alfredo and it was amazing - best I've ever tasted! The desserts are also very good. I'm so sad to see this restaurant go. I really regret not trying it sooner!

Hate to butt into your thread Bill, but does anyone know if the restaurant itself is going to be closed during the transition? I'll be there late Sept-early Oct and am thinking about trying the new restaurant if it's open. Also does anyone know for sure if the new restaurant will be taking the DDP or DDE?

As far as the OP question, I would defnitely eat there just for the fact that you will never get the chance again. I was at WDW in May and am really sorry I didn't try it one last time.

Stick with Alfredos!!! The fetuccini is yummy and it'll be your last chance to try it!!!!

We have eaten there a few times and like it but the food is very rich and filling and we feel so stuffed afterwards.

Another vote for keeping the reservation! I love the fettucine!

On a side note - just got back from a trip to Italy, and the Rome branch of this restaurant, while offering fettucine, really doesn't do it the same way.
