With the end of the current celebration coming up next month, how soon will they "de-bling" the castle? That can't possibly be an overnight job, given how many additions they did.

We're going in January and I look forward to seeing the clean castle again... haven't seen it in a few years. The previous time they had the birthday cake slapped on it.

I don't know how long it will take to "take it off" but I think it took a little over a month to put it on. :confused3

I believe that all decorations will be taken off and a new paint job will be completed by mid-November. Please correct me if I am wrong anyone.

After they de-bling the castle, maybe they'll crack down on it walking around the park with its pants down around its knees and its hat on backwards.

Sorry, I loved "de-bling". :joker: :rotfl2:

And we can go back to calling it the Castle and not Cindy's Crib

(and, kids, when the Godmother changed the pumpkins, it was magic and not "pimping the carriage")

It seems that it’s time to remove all those little extras that were added to the castle for the Happiest Celebration On Earth which officially ends on September 30th. I have been informed that after removing all the HCOE decorations, they will repaint the entire castle as well as use this time period to build that special Castle Bedchamber room into the penthouse. The long rehab will actually begin on September 10th when they will bring in a large crane that will live next to the castle for the next couple of months, surrounded by construction walls at the base somewhere between Sir Mickey’s and the Fairy Tale Gardens, where the walkway will also be closed off. The HCOE decorations will be removed between September 10th to 13th and painting is scheduled to take from September 19th until December 5th.

Well, at least we won't have to see the actual de-blinging process. There's something magical about not seeing the behind-the-scenes work, especially on Cindy's crib, er... Cinderella's Castle. :)

i'm hoping it's back to normal and all the construction stuff gone by the time we get there. We are there Nov 29 - Dec.6. I'm sure they want it back to normal when they tape the Christmas parade on the 1st and 2nd, so hopefully all the scaffolding will be long gone.

Oh yes it did-when they made it into a Birthday Cake! That was butt-ugly.

:lmao: The birthday cake was awful. We will be heading home on September 10 so it's perfect timing. We won't be seeing any cranes hopefully.

I am hoping that they will be done according to schedule, we will be arriving on December 6th and last time we were there the castle was blocked off, I really wanted my girls to be able to walk through the castle this time!

This is bad news for my family :sad2: . We are going to be there from Sept 9 - 16, and it will be my niece and nephew's first time in WDW. I was planning to take a picture of all the kids in front of the castle.

darn i never saw the castle bling in the first place. oh well. I'm sure they'll do it again.
