DD and her husband got back the day before yesterday after 33 days in the USA.
The first two weeks were in Alaska - first week touring around inland Alaska on their own, second week on a 7 night southbround cruise (from seward to vancouver) on the RCCL Radiance of the Seas.

The last 15 days of the trip were at WDW - at the Pop Century - with 14 days of the regular dining plan.

I made all of DD's ADRs for her. She changed about 40% of them, making last minute reservations for a few and walking up to the rest...

she was able to snag a reservation at Chef Mickey's the day before she ate there...

So this is where she ate during her 14 days - not at all in the order she ate at them.

1. Plaza Restaurant (MK) - she actually did eat here the first day - this was my ADR for her - she said the food was good (hamburgers and the like) and the service was very good - and of course, the dessert was good (she had a banana split for dessert)

2. Tony's Town Square (MK) - this was the first time she ate there (my ADR for her) - she said the service was great, the restaurant is very pretty, what she ordered was excellent (pasta primavera - it wasn't on the menu but they made it special for her), but what her husband ordered was barely mediocre (i don't know what). She also said they were lucky to have been seated at one of the 4 best tables there. Not having ever eaten there, i don't know what this means.

3. Sci Fi (DHS) - they ate here FOUR TIMES (yes, you read that correctly - they ate there 4 times - one ADR was mine, the rest were walk-ups). Needless to say, they love this restaurant. DSIL always orders a hamburger at sci fi and DD always orders the vegetarian pasta dish (it's not on the menu - they make it up special for her and apparently it's good or else she wouldn't keep coming there to eat it). For dessert she always orders a milk shake, and DSIL orders the coolest looking dish - looks like an alien encounter sort of thing - i have to upload the picture so you can see it.

4. 50's Prime Time (DHS) - they ate there once (my ADR for her) - the food was fine. Their server wasn't very interactive so not as enjoyable as it might have been.

5. Yak & Yeti (AK) - they ate here twice and said the food was excellent!! and the service was very good. This is one of their favorite restaurants in WDW (along with sci fi and Rose & Crown).

6. Rose & Crown (Epcot) - they ate here twice and said the food and service were outstanding!!! the CMs were super friendly and chatted a lot with them, and never stopped refilling their drinks. This is one of their favorite restaurants at WDW (along with sci fi and Yak & yeti)

7. Whispering Canyon Cafe (dinner at the WL) - the food was good but the server was totally NOT interactive. They even asked for ketchup and actually got a bottle of ketchup (i laughed hysterically when they told me that).

8. Chef Mickey's (dinner) - they ate here once and LOVED it. They got this ADR at the last minute (they called on friday and ate there the next day). the character interaction was good, the server was excellent and the food selection was very good and tasty. - editing this to add that the chef took her around the buffet to tell her what was vegetarian....this was the only buffet that ate in on this trip...

9. Teppan Edo (Epcot) - the food was good but the serving is very small and they were very hungry when they were done. But they said it was interesting and the show was good. But they wouldn't eat there again.

once DD uploads her pictures to my photobucket, i'll post the food porn here.
i saw some of it and i was drooling!!! :goodvibes
(she's a better man than i am - i always forget to take pictures)..

..

still waiting for DD to upload her pictures, but in the meantime a few CS quickie reviews..

she ate at the food court of art of animation and said it was very good...
she thought it was even better than the food court at the pop (which she usually raves about)...

as always, they ate multiple times at Earl of Sandwich (her husband has been dreaming of it since we went there last year)..

and as always they ate at the tangerine cafe in Morocco - one of her favorite counter service locations..

she ate at the counter service in the Land - first time for them - they both liked it a lot...

and they had pizza at pizzafari for the first time and really like it there as well..

those are the ones i remember her telling me about :)

Looking forward to reading more... If I remember correctly your DD is a veggie, like me? Interested to hear where and what she ate!

she's a fish eating vegetarian - so in some places she had the salmon (her favorite fish) and in some places she either had the veggie option on the menu or the chef prepared her something special..

i'll keep reminding her to upload her pictures (she's going to put them into my photobucket so that i can post them here)..

and now that i know there's a specific interest in the veggie info, i'll get the specifics from her...

Another vegetarian subscribing here!:thumbsup2

i just edited my first post to add that at Chef Mickey, the chef took DD around the buffet to tell her exactly what was in everything so that she would know what she could eat...

also Minnie here was very interactive....she kept flirting with DSIL....doing all sorts of funny things with them...
DD normally hates minnie, but minnie really managed to win her over this time... :)

i also should add that DD and DSIL were celebrating their first anniversary, so they had anniversary pins on ...and had on their special t-shirts that they had made up for themselves (in DTD).....as a result of the pins and the shirts, the characters and CMs were especially fun!
especially Minnie...

...

so she is a pescatarian really...:)

This is the reason that the qsdp suits us miles better because there is hardly any choice what so ever in most of the TS restaurants if you are a vegetarian. We found far more choice in the qsdp..We are going to Jiko's this time as they have a good vege and vegan menu..but really we don't go for the food anyway..

Looking forward to all the photo's:)

you can always get a veggie burger in any TS restaurant, whether it's on the menu or not....you can always get one....

and they are always willing to prepare you something special that isn't on the menu (not just the veggie burgers)..

what she eats at sci fi isn't on the menu, but they prepare it for her (a vegetarian pasta dish that she adores)..

and i believe the pasta primavera that she had at tony's town square also wasn't on the menu...

every chef in every TS restaurant will make you something special if you want...
even in the buffets....last year we had made to order meals in the crystal palace and in 1900 park fare ....where the very famous TJ made a multi-course vegan meal to die for....

but all the restaurants will prepare you something special....

we find more choice on the qsdp, a few times when we've gone in to a TS restaurant and asked what they can do they have always come up with something really uninspiring..Normally its a pasta dish, salad or a vege burger which I flatly refuse to pay TS prices for when I can get it at a CS. What I mean by uninspiring is just pasta with a white or red sauce and a couple of vege's in it.. It's the downside of not eating meat/chicken or fish, WDW generally, not all the time, really are not that creative! I sort of begrudge paying a fortune for a dish that I could get over the counter if you know what I mean. The best place we ever encountered (so far) for vege was Boma's...the chef made us a fantastic meal abeit it was a tad embarrassing when he bought it to us at the back of the restaurant on a huge silver platter and it was piled up like a volcano:rotfl: He said he really enjoyed doing it as he just cooks the same stuff day in and day out..We tipped well:)
We have also been in to TS restaurants where they say well we do this and point to the menu at the one option and we have said can you do anything else and they say NO..basically in their eyes they have offered an option so take it or leave it...we ordered a side of broccoli once as well and that came with bacon all through it and they didn't do it without bacon..

We are resigned to this now so its not a big deal to us as long as I can still get my vege sushi from the poly (CS) then I am happy..oh and the make your own pasta from POR food court..

We have one meal booked for my birthday at Jikko's and they do vegan as well which is good as to add to the problem, my DH doesn't like cheese:confused3

I have no idea why we are both so fat:rotfl:

last year i made an ADR for us at 1900 park fare just because of chef TJ...

i had heard so much about him, i really thought DD would enjoy his food..
of course when you make a reservation you have no idea if TJ will be working that night, but i figured it was worth a try...

and that's even though DD and i really hate 1900...

but since it was for dinner and the evil stepsisters and mother are supposed to be really funny, i went ahead and made the reservation..

as it turned out, my daugther in law was totally thrilled as she's in love with cinderella and prince charming....who knew....(my daughter hates the princesses)...
so DDIL was in seventh heaven when she found out we were going to eat dinner with cinderella..

anyway, when we were seated our waitress said that the chef would be out to explain the buffet.... and then what do you know, it was the very very very famous Chef TJ....
he asked us if we were in a hurry, and of course we said no, so he said he would be bringing out a multi-course meal for DD but it would take a little time......
he personally brought out each course....
an amazing appetizer, followed by an even more amazing entree and then followed by an even more amazing dessert...
and then he also made a different special dessert for DD's husband..

at the end of our meal, we were one of the last two tables seated....
so TJ sat down with us to chit chat and take pictures...

absolutely amazing!!!! and so much food, DD could barely put a dent in it all, so the rest of us got a sizable portion of her food as well!!

Oh wow Beth that sounds amazing about Chef TJ - thanks for sharing that

Love your DD reviews on the restaurants she recently experienced and i really look forward to the food porn. I hate it when the servers aren't as interactive as they could be at 50s it kinda ruins it!

Wow they do love Sci-Fi!

Yak and Yeti I've always found the food enjoyable so I'm glad they liked it too.

Again I'm really looking forward to seeing those piccies :)

i've been harassing her to upload the pictures, but she's been both jet lagged and really busy getting ready for her shows in September....

i've only seen a few of the pictures myself, so i'm also looking forward to seeing them all! :)

as for chef TJ - there is a vegan or vegetarian thread on the restaurant board...that's where i read about chef TJ...
