DDR gamecube...anyone know where to get one?

We got our first video game system for Christmas, a gamecube. DS is the main one we bought it for for hand-eye coordination issues. But now DD#1 wants DDR for her upcoming 14th BDay. The only DDR I can find for gamecube is a Mario DDR game, and it is out-of-stock or unavailable on every site I have found so far. Anyone have any leads on this? We dropped the ball at Christmas, waited too long and couldn't find her most-wanted gift (a black fleece north face) anywhere--now I'm afraid we've dropped the ball again--her BDay is March 2.

We got ours at Target at Christmas. I haven't looked lately to see if they are around but have you tried going to game stores like Game Stop?

None at target.com....according to the people selling them on EBay, they only made 2000 of these total and they are going for well over $100! Needless to say we aren't going to spend that much. I'll just have to find her something else.
I just wish I'd known about this at Christmas. Why would they only make 2000? I know it is to increase demand...but we were video game newbies and had no idea DD would want this thing. There are dozens of options of you have a playstation, but we picked gamecube because it was more suited to DS's needs (he has about mastered Lego Star Wars!).

Oh wow I didn't realize they made so few and that they were in high demand. Wowzers the prices they are going for now. EEK!

DS has his basketball team over tonight, and they all love video games so I asked what they knew about this game. One boy told me that Nintendo is releasing more copies of Mario DDR by April 1 (he says he knows because his sister wants it). He said you can call Nintendo's customer service phone number and they'll tell you about the release date. It might be worth a try... good luck!

I think they quit making them because they were too slippery. I think they needed to be redisigned.

This is just speculation though.

I know there is a regular DDR for Nintendo that is not Mario DDR. The music choices had Jessica Simpson and more popular songs. I see it at Best Buy all the time.
