Hi everyone! we're leaving in a couple days. We are DVCers so we have the DDP but are paying full price for it. My SIL and her family are joining us on this trip and I was curious as to how the payment of it will work since we don't technically pay for it until we check in. They want to pay for their plan on their credit card when we arrive and so do we. Is this even possible? And then once we are there, how do we track the DDP points? there are 9 of us total and I don't want to keep track of it all on one.

You might want to post this on the DVC boards, but...

When we stayed at SSR (cash ressie) in December, we were with my brother and parents. So we paid for the room with three different cc's -- we each paid a certain amount. Had no problems whatsoever. I think if that can be done with a room payment, then it can certainly be done with payment for DDP!

We did not do DDP, but I believe that goes on each individuals KKTW card.

Tracking the credits is going to be tough. We are a family of five. So, for a 7 day stay we are given 35 TS credits, 35 CS credits and 35 snack credits. We can then use them however we choose. Every time you use a credit, your receipt will tell you how many you have remaining. You will probably just have to use the honor system that each person will only use their quoto of credits. There really is no way to track who uses which credits or to prevent someone from using more than the credits given per person.

Hi, we have done this. We stayed with some friends who had DVC. 7of us total 2 bedroom villa. We checked in several hours before them and since we knew ahead that is how it would happen they gave us cash to pay their portion of the plan. Had we checked in at the same time we would have been able to provide 2 cards and had them split the cost how we dictated. As far as keeping track--if everyone is honest and understands the rules it is not that hard. We just knew our total per night times 3 and only used that many. They did the same. A few snacks we pooled together by discussing ahead of time, but this was back when you could get a multi serving bag of chips or a box of donuts with a credit which you can no longer do. We ate most of our TS together so that was easy. We just each discussed at the end of the day how many credits we had used that day and how many that should leave and checked the receipts. We did have to have one thing fixed down at the front desk when 1 extra credit was removed--no problem. Good luck and have fun.

You will have to keep track of it all on one (sorry just read your post again) unless you have multiple rooms. If you are in a grand villa or tree house etc it will all be one total but availible on all the cards.

To keep track....go down to the DISign board and get a copy of one of the DDP tracker sheets. I forget what they call them. They will customize it for you. make one for you and one for the other family. Then when you use credits just mark off a spot. Make sure you compare it to a receipt every once in a while and you should be fine.

I had no idea something like this was out there. What a great idea!
