DDP with AP and no room???

Is this allowed? We are going for Christmas Dec21st-Jan2 but staying off property in a condo- can we buy the DDP because we have annual passes and how do we do this? Thanks!!!

I believe you must be staying on Disney property to purchase the plan.

You can only purchase the dining plan if you are staying in a Disney-owned resort.

The Swan and Dolphin and Shades of Green are on property, but they're not owned by Disney. You can't get the plan there, either.

No, but as an AP holder you can get the Disney Dining Experience card for I believe $60 and I think that offers you a 20% savings in many Disney restaurants.

There are 2 ways to get the DDP:
1. Book a complete vacation package with an onsite hotel and park tickets (Magic your way package)
2. As a Disney Vacation Club Member staying on points, you can get the DDP with or without purchasing park tickets

AP holders can also purchase the DDP (without having to purchase park tickets now), but as the previous poster said, must stay on site. You can still get the room discount, but buying the DDP turns it into a pkg with all the stuff that accompanies a pkg (must be paid for by 45 days out and penalties for changes after 45 days out).

And it seems that if you cause your package to increase in price during the 45 days, the fee is waived. My daughter added my son to her reservation within the timeframe and no charge.
