DDP vs Pirate Room. Thoughts?

So we are booked at CBR in May, but with the pin I had only the pirate rooms were avalible. We have a DS5 and DS1 so that is fine with us. I am aware of the distance/beds issues others have had, however neither of those are a big deal to us.

We currently have QS dining, which, with the way we tour works great. We don't do touring plans and have hoppers, we go with the flow and it works great for us, so QS has been ideal, and we don't want to rush around to get to a TS on time, however...

I had one CM quote me a difference of $.40 and one quote me a savings of $75 if we were to move to a standard room but upgrade to the DDP. Any thoughts? We would lose the pirate room, but be closer to the Pool and OPR. This close will be hard to get IDEAL ressies, but there are still plenty avalible. We will then have to factor in tips also. BUT we could do something other than hamburgers and pizza then (I know there are other items out there, but you know what I mean...)

Thoughts? What would you do? Keep in mind we have an 18 month old.

Also, if we (for instance) use all our QS in the first few days and decide not to use the TS, will they let us use the TS credits at a QS resturant? Considering the cost, we won't be losing any money but I don't want to be hungry running around trying to find a TS with an opening because that's all the credits I have left. KWIM??

Thanks!

You may be able to do this at a resort QS but, but likely not in the parks. You could also try asking the resort concierge to convert the TS credits to QS credits if you want to use them that way in the parks.

I'd change it. :thumbsup2 With kids that age the closeness to the pool will be a major plus. Plus hopefully you can get some character meals and save yourself a lot of time!

For a difference of even $75, I don't think it's worth it, especially since you're concerned about not using all the TS as TS.

My opinion would be to keep what you have now, and pay OOP for a couple of TS meals if you want them. It'll be closer to your touring style and likely cost less than the DDP in the end. Alternatively, you can drop to normal rooms and do the same, saving a bit of extra money for those meals if you're not completely sold on the pirate rooms.

I'm mixed...

IF you could get Charactor meals to save time rather than waiting in line then switch. (ex. Chef Mickey's, Breakfast at H&V (@DHS), Crystal Palace)

BUT I'm mainly leaning towards DO NOT because "you" said that you do not like to be tied down to ADRs. This is also the main reason we do QSDP.

If they had weights attached the "don't switch" would win.
