well, i asked... i was told the only way i could get add'l credits was to purchase an extra night's resort stay (which i was tempted to do 'cause w/free dining it was significantly less expensive than adding a night of paid dining)...

I wish Disney would offer the extra days of credits up front, prior to arrival.
The dining plan can be added within 72 hours/3 days of arrival.
Any extra days of meal credits should be the same.
Otherwise the guests are paying quite a bit more by adding on days at the front desk.
I can see being able to add the credits at the front desk and it costing more if they have not planned ahead.
But if someone wanted to add any extra credits prior to arrival it cannot be done, that I am aware.
Of course the resort is probably buying the credits from WDTC. Since it does not seem to be WDTC offering the extra credits prior to arrival.
Definitely not something the resort want to make enticing, IMHO. They figure if some do it, they will at least make some $ from it.

If I recall correctly. This rumor has yet to be validated other than a CM posting on a different website. All be it a CM, there has been no official word from Disney directly nor has there been anyone to validate that it could be done.

The pp stated that the only way to get an extra days worth of credits was to pay for an extra night at the resort... unless my but is staying an extra day at Disney I don't think I'll be shelling out the $150 plus.

Please correct me if I am wrong ... has Disney confirmed this as an option?

While this is a nice idea...and it would yield more money for disney...i don't think you'll see it.

here's why:

1. The purchase of additional credits will put more strain on a stretched thin dining system
2. The original dining plan/ credits system was formulated based on numbers - numbers of tables and chairs available, numbers of quickserve spots, numbers of hotel rooms, numbers of nights...to put in an unlimited add on would throw all that out of the window. Every thing at WDW is calculated in numbers...everything.
3. The point of dining plan...and specifically the free dining promotions...is to sell room nights and tickets...leading to more giftshop purchases. they want to sell you the whole package (as they have for 20 years)...they don't want you using the dining plan without the extra tickets and booked hotel rooms. An add-on would defeat this purpose...and their overall goal of lengthening the average stay.

for our family, paying for an extra night would be less expensive (during free dining) than paying regular price, nevermind the ridiculously inflated price indicated in a previous post, as we are a family of four disney adults...

and if we were staying at a value resort in value season, again, the cost of the extra night plus paying for the dining plan at the regular cost, would be less than the inflated cost posted previously (for a family of four disney adults)...

Have not seen anything official. And who knows if we will. :confused3 So will be interested to see if anyone is able to do it, who requests this. It just has been said enough figuring there must be at least some truth in there somewhere. If it is true, seems to be pretty unknown.

Bump

Curious if anyone has heard anymore about this or has been able to purchase the extra days DP credits?

This is a rumor that never came to fruition.

i'm thinking this was based on supposition not fact... i don't expect we'll see it happening any time soon...

I think this was based on an orginal poster who makes things up.
