The Dining plans will become "reloadable" starting August 19th. You can fill up your snack/meal coupons as you exhaust a full day's supply by paying a fee at the front desk.

More information please! How does this work? Where did you hear about it from?

Huh? I need a little more help. For some reason I can't wrap my head around this. Please explain.

please add more info... this would totally work for our family as we have a few more meals planned than we do credits... and we find that credits are cheaper than meals for our family...

::off to google it::

Ideally this would allow you to pick up an extra TS credit so that if you are on the DDP you can consider some 2ts places.

but, I suppose you can already do that by paying oop for a 1ts meal one day? Price point would be interesting.

I googled this too and turned up a page on wdwmagic saying that it's been confirmed by there independent sources and will be announced tomorrow IIRC. Once you've used up at least one day's set of meals (2 TS, 2 snacks, 2 QS for a party of two) you'd be able to pay at the front desk to get those 'reloaded.'

I think it's something we would've used on our last trip, when we were on the DP. Next trip we're on QS and I think we'll get enough food but maybe not? The price point matters but actually this would relax me about whether I needed to watch if we're overusing our credits and going to end up paying oop at the end or not. It all depends on price point though! It would also make it easier on the DP to include Cindy's for example with the 2 credits and still get a sitdown meal each day.

It will be interesting to know the details when they emerge.
I assume the credits will be sold by the day, as opposed to being able to just buy extra snack credits or table service credits (as examples). :confused3
This will really confuse those who already think they can add a dining plan at check in. :rolleyes1 But maybe that eventually will be allowed too. :confused3

Google'd this morning ... Nadda .. would be interested to see as it could be useful.

I wonder how it would work for those of us that might be on Free Dining?? Thoughts?

So if I wanted to buy points for an extra table service but I didnt need the extra quick service meal would this be possible or do you buy a whole extra days worth of meal plan with all credits (table, quick and snack?)

nobody knows 'cause the details are missing and the whole concept seems to be based around one leak of a rumor on another message board... stay tuned and hopefully we will all have some more information soon!

Interesting rumor.

I am going to move this over to the rumor and news board for further discussion and speculation until more details emerge from Disney.

I like this idea in particular if you want to do Hoop De Doo or Cinderallas Castle.. We have been trying to weigh out if its better to pay out of pocket for these..

Well something similar to us actually. Not that we are looking at TS that would require 2 credits, just that we are going for 3 nights/4days ..

We'll arrive on for breakfast on the first day .. around 8/9 or so and then we don't leave out until about 4pm on the fourth day.

It would be nice if we were able to get another full day of dining, as they give it to you by the night, not by the day.

Looking forward to seeing some details, guess we'll have to wait until the 19th of August according to the OP.

actually, according to the OP we should get "official word" today... (aka yesterday's tomorrow! LOL!) and it is set to start on August 19th... almost coinciding w/the start of free dining, but not quite...

True ... but seeing as there isn't anything about it anywhere I figure we'll have to wait to see if anyone at the parks asks Disney for a top up and see what happens.

Its probablly a good way for them to make money during free dining.. I would assume during free dining you would have to pay out of pocket for the extra meals..:thumbsup2
