DDP refillable mug with a split stay- second half with NO DDP/

We have to do a split stay (availability issues) for our next trip. We are getting the dining plan for the first 3 nights and I know we get a mug. The question is, is the mug good for a certain amount of time or does the chip in the bottom expire when the DDP ends?

For some reason, when we had it a few months ago and would fill up with some soda, the screen told us it was good until a few days after we left...I never gave it a second thought....

Dining plan mugs get coded for 14 days, no matter how long your stay is. Have a great trip!
