DDP questions

these questions may get me in trouble... oh well here goes

I know if you book the dining package everyone in your party must have it, but we will need two rooms, so.....

can I book one room with the DDP and one room without? I would book it as 2 different reservations and have them linked, so that our rooms could be in close proximity.

I don't think it would matter too much until we actually go to eat. Will there be a problem at the restaurants when we have a couple diners on the dining plan and a couple not on the dining plan. Are the dining credits specific to that person or can we transfer them around our group - like can I use my teenagers or can he use mine?

Booking one room with the DDP and one without is not a problem. For dining.......just tell your server who is on the DDP and who is not. However.....Disney does not allow the transferring of dining credits to others or sharing credits with those who are not on the plan....so the credits will only be allowed for those that are in the room with the DDP....the people in the other room will have to pay OOP.
