Hi I just have a quick question about the ddp. There are 3 of us going, one of whom is my dd who is 3. Obviously at TS meals she has to order from the kids menu, is this the same with cs? Just thought I'd read somewhere that cs & snack credits were kind of all grouped together can someone clear this up for me? Thanks!

While the credits are pooled the official answer is that she should order from a kids menu where available.

It used to be that the cashier would check your KTTW card and you could only order the number of meals shown ie 2A, 1C so I am not sure what happens now with Magic Bands.

TBH you will probably have more than enough food with 2 adult meals anyway.

Thanks for that! We were just trying to work out where to save some credits to make up for signature meals we have booked! Dd has quite a small appetite so thought she would most likely share with me at our cs meals. It's our first time using ddp so am trying to get my head round it all before we go!

I have never done the DP with Magic Bands but have had it four times with children before they hit 10 years and my DS always ordered an adult CS meal and we were never questioned about it. My DD would order children's meals when she was over ten as she eats like a flea, at both CS and TS meals and again no questions. Of course that's bad value use if the plan but we had it free so no worries to me. If Disney cares it is a loophole they would have shut down. I suggest you try to get three adult CS meals your first day and see what happens.

The CS credits are pooled. So you can order an adult meal for a kid.You will scan your magic band, and the cashier will see how many adults and how many children are in the room.

From that point on it's entirely up to the cashier to allow you to buy 3 adults meal.

In our experience, half of the CMs will object (but many will let you with a "don't do it again" lecture), half of the CMs won't say a thing.

We have used a small "workaround" (don't quote me, I'd deny :) ), not much of a workaround actually, but a way to avoid the odd cast member who would tell us we need a kid's meal for our 6 years old.

What we did is to use 2 cash register at the same time.
I went to the register with a tray with 2 adult meals on it, and DW went to the next register with a second tray, with DS in tow, and only 1 adult meal.

That way, no questions asked.
what the CM may challenge is having more adult meals than there are adults in the room.
If you do 2 transactions, you never are above the adult count, you're fine.

I don't know if it's against policy, if it's cheating, or whaterver, and TBH I don't really care.

This is one of those issues where there is an official line and an unofficial blip in the system.

Playing by the rules, you can only order from the kids menu for a child. However, the meals are pooled, so unofficially, it is possible to order an adult meal. We only found this out by accident. My DD and I usually share a CS meal (probably won't this year now she's bigger and can eat more) and we were able to use the left over credits we had for adult meals.

You really won't need to order extra adult meals, but there is a blip in the system that enables it.

Yes last year we was ordering three adult meals and my twins who turned four out there would share amd we was on the ddp

In feb we had magic bands. 2 adults on ddp with a two year old not. We could order 3 meal credits when we wanted and they never asked any questions so just see what you can get away with!

TS meals are all seperate so you will need the correct number of those credits for your meals.

You will not need 3 adult CS meals - DD (5) & I can share one easily.

Just remember officially kids need to order from the kids menu.

Yes adult and kids QS meals are not split

We usually share 2 adult meals between 3 of us. Remember you get dessert too.

You can then use the other QS meals as you choose - maybe for breakfast.

Hi - all my ts credits are sorted. I was just thinking about days we don't have a ts really & how to use the cs on those days. Dh is constantly hungry so he will most likely get through all his share plus dd's!

It's likely on days we don't have a ts that we will have a cs in the morning & the evening as this is how we ate last time we were there when we weren't on the dining plan. That's the main reason I was wondering how the cs credits worked.

Thanks everyone for your replies! :-)
