Is there anywhere I can question a way the DDP works? In our resort (CR - hate it - don't stay here - very dirty - housekeeping is horrible - but that's another thread) we just got some cereal and milk. On the menu board it says cereal including milk 2.99. That should count as a snack credit, right? Well the lady charged us 2 credits. One for the milk, one for the cereal. And no one working the registers speaks English. So who can I call/email to get our other credit back? Or am I off my rocker and she's right? That makes me so sad... We were hoping for a lower-calorie meal without using a meal credit. But if it's really two snack credits, forget it!

BTW, we weren't the only ones in line questioning this...

Thanks for the help!

One snack item = 1 credit. That's 2 items, so 2 credits. And we're talking free anyway!

Jeepers! Sounds like you're miserable. I don't have any help for your DDP question, but try to enjoy the rest of your trip.

IMHO, life is too short to be pi$$ed about anything when you're at DISNEY WORLD! :rotfl2:

When we were there in May they were considered two items and therefore two snacks. Unless it has changed that should still be the case. I think the DDP in regards to snacks is still being worked out.

Did you get a box of cereal and a carton of milk? Yeah, I can see where that'd be two snack credits. Or did you get a bowl of cereal, add milk to it and bring that to the register? That should be one credit.

See the Lobby Concierge at your resort, but I bet the cashier was right. Also see the LC about your issues with the resort.

Precisely; Snack credits must be used for single, qualifying items. Snack credits are not simply $4 in cash-value to use as desired.

You can't combine a number of items to equal $4 and call it one snack.

2 items = 2 snack credits, regardless of the price.

It's listed as one item on the menu tho...I wonder if they would put the milk on the cereal as someone else stated to make it one credit. If not I believe if it's listed together it should be one credit not two. i have to agree with the OP on this one. If it wasn't listed on the menu that way then that's a different story but listed as one charged as two...

ON another thread someone reporter that cereal and milk are one credit and thats how they were charged. If its right or not i dont know but if i were there i would p0rob aska manger cuz it sounds as its just one snack if its listed together on the price tag...

So is a Root beer float or dole whip float 2 credits since it has Ice cream and Root Beer. :confused3

why should it vary by location? If she bought cereal, then a thing of milk, yes, that is 2 items and should be 2 credits. but if it the "meal" is cereal with milk, that is 1 item. and should only be 1 credit.

Take the receipts to your resort and explain the situation. They will more than likely fix your credits as you desire.

I don't believe there really is a "why" there -- it just does.

I went back and talked to the "head" cashier. He credited us two of the snack credits (three were in question), so I'm happy with that. I explained that it was confusing because it was listed as one menu item "cereal including milk" and if I knew that would have counted as two snack items, I never would have gotten it. He agreed that it was confusing and that at some resorts it does count as one item, but at CR it counts as two. So, it does vary by location.

As for the room, our a/c went out yesterday. It took them five hours to get someone to us to fix it. If the rumor is true and they're tearing down this building, I say good riddance. It is crumbing down around us. I think we should move, DH says it's too much of a pain. We're hardly here. Except for yesterday when he was out swimming with the kiddos and I was doing laundry, he's right!

The parks are GREAT!!!! It's our first visit, we love it here. We're already planning our next visit but we'll stay at the GF or the Poly. No more CR for us. It's pretty bleh and I think we'd like more themeing. Just our preference, don't mean to put down people who like this hole of junk! I swear our $45 room in Hojo Anaheim was larger, cleaner and a better location - the the service was 10 x's better. This room is a complete rip-off, but I suppose we're paying for location. It's filthy, the housekeeping is lousy - just not what you'd expect for a $249 a night room - and Disney to boot! We love the Disneyland Hotel and Grand Calif - great service, clean rooms -worth what you pay. This place is a joke, IMHO!

It sounds like that North Wing is really hurtin'. Folks booking Garden Wing rooms are well-advised to request South Wing.

I wouldn't ever compare Contemporary Resort to the Grand Californian -- clearly that hotel is comparable to WDW's Grand Floridian, not to the Contemporary Resort. I think the Disneyland Hotel is more along the lines of the Yacht and Beach Club, which is a half-step above the Contemporary Garden Wings (even the newly-refurbished South Wing).

There is a reason the wing rooms at the CR are less expensive than the rooms at the GF. Sorry you are having such a bad time there. Our stay there was incredible and we were there with a hurricane!!! Yes, the rooms are in need of update but I guess they aren't going to be doing that are they?? Not if they are going to rip the whole darn thing down. As someone else said, if you want the wings, ask for South wing.

Sure would be nice if snack credits were the same everywhere though!!! Man, how can they justify cereal and milk being 1 credit at one resort and 2 credits at another resort?? That's just not right.

Glad you got the snack credits cleared up!

We stayed at the CR last week. We were in the South wings. Wow! The rooms are really nice. I know you think the rooms are small, but since you haven't stayed in any other WDW hotel, you don't have anything to compare it to. We stayed at POP last year, and those rooms are SMALL!! CR's standard rooms are gigantic compared to the values...lol.

I walked the kids down to the park at CR which is by the North wings. It was night, and as we were walking I couldn't help looking at the rooms with the curtains open (no, I'm not a peeping Tom!). The north wing rooms do look pretty bad. It is like night and day compared to the south wing rooms.

And BTW, I'm wondering if we got a small upgrade. We paid for the standard view (the cheapest) and I was expecting a view of the parking lot. Instead, we got a view of the pool. It was great sitting on the patio with the nice view.

Why doesn't Disney just pick a price point for snacks and call it good?? Doesn't it make more sense to just say "everything $4 and under is considered a snack?" That way it wouldn't differ from place to place. Or $3 or whatever. It's not rocket science...I'm not sure why the snack thing is such a conundrum for them. If they can figure out how to move millions of people through a park in a year surely this shouldn't be such a challenge. JMO.
