I am going to try and ask this another way and maybe someone has done this.
I have a very picky 11 year old who I am paying the adult prices for on the DDP. She would be just as happy to eat off the kids menu. Can I pay out of pocket for her meal and then use the TS credits at CRT? Thanks for any help.

Thank you!!!
Disney restaurants have generally not enforced the age limits on the purchasing of child meals (9 years old and younger), so you should be okay. However, do be aware that that could change before you trip occurs.

I think for the most part you should be fine. I have posted this before-friends of ours ate at Flying Fish. Their boys were "adults" and they were not allowed to order off the kids menu, unless they used their dining plan credits. If they used the dining plan, they could have ordered from either menu. This was shortly after the big crack-down on the DDP cheaters using child credits for adult meals or to treat others on the plan. So maybe now that the credits are completely seperate, they have eased up on stuff like your particular issue. :)

Is it ok not to use a credit for one member of your party? Say mom just isn't hungry and wants to pay OOP for an appetizer only, or an entree but doesn't want all that food at that particular meal. I guess it's the same as a sharing question, but OOP food is still ordered by the non-DDP guest.

You can generally split the check, between Dining Plan and non-Dining Plan usage. Do note that the non-Dining Plan usage will be subject to an automatic 18% gratuity.

Thanks, bicker. I will look out for the included gratuity. Our plans are complicated by my parents crashing our trip for a couple of days and not getting the dining plan. I think it's too late to convert them to a package.

I thought only DDE and large parties were subject to automatic gratuities. I thought that for DDP and out of pocket you can determine your own tip.

I am not planning on cheating the system, just want to be in "the know". Someone mentioned that disney has "cracked down" on people using kids credits for adult meals. Have they started listing them seperately on the back of the cards too ?

The automatic gratuity also applies to any OOP items at a DDP table. That's THIS year. The provisions you referred to don't start until NEXT year.

The KTTK have indicated this for a while: 2A2C means "two adults and two children" on the Dining Plan.
