I am very pleased that Disney is no longer asking if you are on the dining plan first thing when you call for reservations. It always felt like they were reserving tables for diners who hadn't paid for their suppers yet.;) They still ask of course, but after you are told availability. I like this approach much better.

I haven't called lately but I agree with you. I always felt like they have a different ressie's page that they looked up availability base on if you were with the DP or not. I am sure that is not the case but it sure made me feel that way.

Then you got a new CM that doesnt know what theyre doing. They still ask. It has nothing to do with availibility. They ask because they HAVE to tell you how many credits the restaurant takes and if it takes the DP at all. Also, if youre not on the DP there are restaurants where they must take payment for (CRT and dinner shows) or a credit card guarantee if you are on the DP

I said they still ask, but they don't ask first thing. It used to be that before they looked up availability they would ask if you were on the plan. It always sounded as if you had a better chance of getting something if you said "no". Not that that was true..it was merely a perception.

Um, this is absolutely the case. I honestly cannot believe that there is a school of thought out there that believes that Disney holds tables for those not on the DDP. Either way, Disney is making a ridiculous amount of money from our eating on property. :sad2:
