DDP Newbie Questions

Hi all

Have not stayed onsite in 8yrs. May have the opportunity to stay at the Boardwalk in either Aug or June.

When does Disney announce if they will offer the free dining plan? Is it random? Is it every year? Can everybody take advantage or is it just for a select few?

Any other info would be of great help. Thanks.

For 2007 the free dining was first offered to Disney Visa holders around mid April for stays starting the end of Aug through Sept 22. After a short timeframe this offer was available to the general public. You had to book by June 24, 2007. I think Disney has offered the free dining 2005, 2006, and this year. We did book a week's stay beginning Sept 22. While we were there, Disney had a flyer in the room for a 2008 bounceback offer. Free dining for the DDP or a reduced rate for the Deluxe dining plan (~32pp). I can't recall the exact dates avail for 2008 but I think it started aroung Aug 30 to the near end of Sept. If you are on the plan, I suggest getting reservations asap 180 days prior to stay to get restaurants/times you want. We had a difficult time getting ours and we booked the trip mid June and made the dinner reservations then. Many people are either on the plan or just making reservations for TS restaurants and they are filled up.

If you have a Disney Visa you can charge the trip and have no interest for 6 months, just another money saver FYI.
