We are staying 9 nights- how will our DDP credits shake out? Do we get meals/snacks for all 10 days? I can't quite figure out how it works

Credits are allotted PER NIGHT. Not per day. If you are staying 9 nights on the regular dining plan you will receive 9 TS, 9 CS and 9 snack credits per person (for each person age 3 and over on your resort reservation). You get them all at once, and you have your full stay to spend them however and whenever you choose. Any unused credits expire at midnight after you have checked out.

Thank you- that's what I thought but then saw people talking about dining resv for arrival and departure days... I was confused! We'll have to sock away extra money for meals those days!

You don't have to spend one a day. You can spend them in any order and any amount you choose. Some guests may choose to use them for arrival or departure days instead of days in the middle of the trip. It is true that if you eat a TS meal every day you will not have enough TS credits to cover 10 days. If you have any 2 TS restaurants planned you have even fewer credits to play with.

We found we had heaps of QS credits left over so you could use those. DDP is a lot of food you can make it go far

I hear that so often... my kids are big eaters (and super active so they just burn it right off!). Hopefully it will all shake out okay. I'm really excited for all the TS this time, I want to try them all! We've always stayed off property and done just one or two meals.

if your kids are disney kids (ie between 3-9), you have to order off the kids menu for them at TS... so you may find buffets is a good value. My "little guy" will be 8 and has gotten quite the appetite lately so I'd rather use a TS on a $20+ buffet for him where he can have lots of variety than on a $7.99 kids meal that may not fill him up. But for QS, they no longer distinguish between kid and adult credits... feel free to order adult QS meals for them. Not sure how many kids you have but you can also conserve by sharing - order a large meal (like chicken and ribs combo) and swap out drink and/or dessert for snack and share between 2 people or 3 meals between 4 etc. That will stretch it a bit further as well.

Great ideas! My kids will be 7.5, 7.5 and 4.5 I didn't even think about sharing. So much to learn!

Also on our arrival day we get to the hotel at 6pm, so that day we only use a credit for dinner. On the departure day we leave about 2pm, so we only use a credit for lunch (or breakfast). Therefore we don't actually need credits for every day of the trip as the arrival/departure days are half days for us

Like the PP we manage our credits between arrival day and departure day. On arrival day we have a TS dinner. On departure day we have a QS lunch

Generally speaking, we all use a TS credit each night, including arrival day. No TS on departure day. Then several of us share at QS. My mom and grandma split and my kids can share. My dad and DH usually get their own. That leaves me, depending on what the kids want, we may or may not order another meal. But even if we order another meal at each lunch, which we most certainly won't need to each time, that's still an extra 16 QS for our 8 night trip, plenty for our last day lunch. We use the extras for the last day, and we use them for a couple QS breakfast too. The bounty platters are huge so if we sub a side for the drink, 2 or 3 are sufficient for all 7 of us.
