We are thinking of staying on site with DDP. With my disability, I can get really tired (to the point of sleeping on my feet) after a large(ish) meal.

My question is:

If I was struggling one evening, would I be able to get a 'doggy bag' to take back to the resort or be forced to just leave it?

I just want to know whether the DDP is going to suit me (as it does suit the rest of the party).

Thanks in advance.

You should have no problem getting a doggy bag anywhere except a buffet or all you can eat. We got them everywhere but the luau which was annoying because we were trying to take the children's meal that comes in a pre-measured no refill container, it isn't from the food on the table. We even opened it to show it was I think 3 chicken nuggets! Still wouldn't let my son take it, if I had known I would have wrapped the 3 nuggets in my purse. I thought that was a little over the top, but everywhere else no problems. We probably took our desserts to go 75% of the time.

Thank you so much for the prompt reply! I was worried that DDP would not suit but I am so excited that it does!

Another concern would be getting it back to your resort at a safe temperature plus how to keep it cool or heat it if needed before you eat it.

We were thinking about hiring a fridge and some stuff for the Disney part of our holiday. (14 nights and saw a shuttle company that we want to use does length of stay prices-not per night- which works out better). I would qualify for the fridge for medical reasons, but it says everything must be 'factory sealed', so might be better hiring. The original plan was to hire the stuff for the days I am too tired to even walk to get a cold drink from the resort place.

Really, it is mostly dessert that I am worried about.:rotfl: :lmao: I like my desserts.

Oh, yeah. The desserts won't be a problem.

If you are staying at a Moderate, Deluxe or Home Away From home resort, you will have a refrigerator. The only WDW resorts that don't have refrigerators are the value resorts.
Also, if you are mostly using it to keep drinks cold, you could bring a collapsable cooler. I have one that folds down to about 1 inch thick, 24 inches wide and about 10-12 inches long. It opens up to about a 24 inch square cube that is 6-8 inches wide. It's supposed to be able to keep frozen food frozen for up to 5 hours. If you add ice to each morning and evening, something like that will keep drinks cold. The ice is free from ice machines in each resort area/floor of the resort.
