DDP how does everyone use theres???

Breakfast QS options are not fantastic imo and using your QS credit for breakfast is not getting the best value from it (no dessert)

We much preferred using the QS for a very early lunch - some places open 10.30am/11am.

Perks of this are food is fresh (we were first ones to use the pecos bills toppings bar one day it was pristine) and the QS places aren't busy.

It sounds odd eating that early but if you are up early with the time difference then by that time you are ready for lunch.

This is our first trip on the full dining plan.
So far we have followed our past trip pattern but just replaced it with dining credits.

Breakfast is cereal or toast and fruit juice in the room. The refillable mugs are used by the adults for a morning coffee.

Lunch we share 4 CS though with the 4 desserts this is too much food.
Then supper we are using 4TS credits as we need the extras for buffets for the 5 of us plus the 2TS credits required for Hoop De Do Reveue and Spirit of Aloha.

Snack credits have in the past week been difficult to use and so far we have spent 5 on frozen lemonades.
I suspect we will use a couple more when we do the evening fireworks :goodvibes

11 character meals....I cant wait for your trip report!!!!!!!!!!!

DD needs to be kept entertained during meal times and what better way then large fluffy people walking round?!? Lol

I'm seriously struggling with our other two choices though!

Breakfast TS are poor use of credits in terms of value. For example a character breakfast at Ohana has a value of $22, evening meal $36. I can never get $22 of value out of breakfast, something like a slice of toast, a Crispy Kreme doughnut or a cinnomon roll is enough until lunch time for me.

Never used all the snack credits, we end up at DTD Goofy's candy store on our last morning to use them up, last year was 25 bags of candy to take home.:goodvibes

How old will she be?

DD was 3 our first DDP trip and loved coral reef (ask to sit next to aquarium) and sci fi (pretending to drive the car)

She will be almost 2! She loved character meals at Disneyland Paris when we went in march so hoping she still will next February!

I was reading reviews of Mickeys BBQ and it sounded perfect just what we wanted they don't show it in January and February though :(

I think it will be our guest so just need to decide one more!

Our plan is very simple:

- Breakfast in the room (OKW kitchen makes that easy) - cereal/danish/muffin etc.
- Lunch CS in whatever park.
- Dinner TS 1 credit per day.

This normally means we use a snack/TS on the 1st night, leaving a CS left over for the last day, which last year was Wolfgang Puck Express before the drive back to Miami for the airport.

We have only done DDP on a 7 night basis so don't really feel we have the flexibility to want to 'blow' 2TS credits on a signature/show, probably would if we were there longer.

Haven't found we're left with many snack credits - there's always an afternoon ice cream (we eat dinner relatively late ~8pm), and, if we're in Epcot, with the F&WF there's lots of opportunity for a pre-dinner snack, which is great as I'm much more of an appetiser person than dessert :goodvibes

Can you use credits at any of the kiosks at the food and wine festival?

We bought 30 bags home and still had 61 credits over!!! Crazy...

We made the mistake of buying one bottle of water between two people to save having to carry it... So using less than half of our credits per day sometimes. We had over 200 and had to try to use 90 in the last 24 hours, lol. And the family next door were complaining about having 15 left over!!

Maybe take some paper bowls/plastic spoons in your luggage.

From memory the plates/dishes and cutlery we had in the okw studio was paper/plastic.

Do they replace the plastic/paper plates dishes and cutlery as you use them?

We did the same we went for 21 nights there was 6 of us and the boys used to share a frozen lemonade between them so they could drink it between rides, and they never really wanted dessert due to all the desserts they ate at Ts meals so we had 72 snacks left which we used every one of and brought home packs of lollies those Pez character sweet holders "i of every character for each child" god knows how many huge lolli pops!! we still had some of the disney sweets left a yr and half later! plus they let us exchange our QS for snacks too and so we changed them for 15 bags of jelly beans for presents! :lmao:

My boys want to save all the snack credits again next yr(they dont know it will be this yr) so they have all the sweets left but we will only be doing 15 nights and ive seen a few things i want  so they will have to make do with half the amount this time!!

Apart from doing 2 character breakfasts we generally used snack credits for breakfast (pastry either from the hotel or at the park.) TS mainly in the evening (apart from a couple of lunches), counter service the rest of the time. We did 3 meals that required 2 TS credits and balanced this by sharing pizza between the 4 of us for a couple of lunches (thereby using only 2 credits for the meal instead of 4) leaving us only 1 TS meal to pay OOP.

We used all our credits, and got a couple of snacks and a CS salad to have at the airport on our last day.

I thought the dining plan was fab and allowed us to experience a wide range of dining options that we wouldn't have chosen if we didn't have it.
excellent idea

We loved planet Hollywood when we went last time had a great meal but we were on such a small squashed in table an the table next to us had a highchair and I worry about people near us with DD they are a target after all lol!

What 'shows' can you use your ts credits for? how many does it cost 1 or 2?

Thanks

Hoop de doo review at Ft wilderness

Spirit of aloha at polynesian resort

Mickey's backyard bbq at Ft wilderness

All cost 2 TS credits a person but include all u care to eat food, drinks inc alcohol like wine or beer and also include the tip.

Hoop de doo seems to get the best reviews - looking forward to trying it in November.
