Hello. I'm sure this is a question I can have answered in the AM, but is it at all possible to get the DDP just for a few days of a longer trip?

We are new DVC members who are considering a last minute add on of DDP, but maybe not for the whole trip. Already ordered lots of groceries, etc. Wouldn't really need to splurge the whole time, but maybe just a little.

We are already doing a split stay, so I imagine I could leave the 5 nights at OKW alone, and add DDP on for the 2 remaining nights we are at ASM. DH thinks 3nights of DDP would be ideal.

Any thoughts?:confused3

From the Dining Plan FAQ:
Do I have to purchase the Dining Plan for the entire duration of my visit?
The Dining Plan must be purchased for the entire duration of your reservation. If you wish to purchase the Dining Plan for only a portion of your visit, you would have to make separate reservations (which could lead to having to switch rooms mid-trip, but that's somewhat rare).

I believe there is a three-night minimum for the Dining Plan, but that may not apply to DVC members.

But if you split your reservation, you won't be able to link them and you might have to move. If you have lots of food to move, that could be a problem.

And if you try to add the DDP to your All Stars stay, you'll have to purchase a package including tickets and rack rate room.

Do you have an AP? You can purchase the Disney Dining Experience card and get 20% off most your table service dining.

We are splitting our trip as well.

3 nights POFQ and 5 nts. OKW.

While we have not purchased our tickets or DDP yet, we plan to do a DDP pkg. with the 1st part of the trip.

We would have DDP until midnight on the day we check out of our first resort, so in essence, we have 4 night that it is in effect...the first of which we fly in and check into POFQ, the last of which we chack into OKW. Then we have 4 more Nights without the dining plan and will rely on giftcards, and cash. Does that make sense?

We will purchase our tickets with the package for the entire trip.

So first half of trip= 3 nts. POFQ, DDP (3 nts. but does not expire till midnight of check out day), and 8 day tickets...all purchased as a package.
