Another question about the DDP. If you eat at your home resort do you have to use your refillable mug as the drink. Example: can you grab a bottle of water as your drink, fill up your mug and drink that with your breakfast, and take the bottle of water you didn't drink into the parks?

Question 1 - no. question 2 - yes.

The trick is to figure out what todo with your mug after our meal - if you are planning to head tot he parks after eating. You either have to carry the mug, or biring it back to the room.

I also find we have to wash it somehow.

For those reasons, we often don't use the mugs much. Soem folks like to carry small bits of sponge preloaded with dish soap. WDW has sinks near the mug refill stations, but no soap. In the room, we sometimes use the 'liquid shower gel' as dish soap. (or shampoo)

Yeah we were there in March and we found ourselves walking back to our room to drop them off. That was ok though because at PoR the best bus stop was by our room so it was cool. I'd do just about anything to save a snack credit from being used on a drink. LOL

Wow...that's really smart!

I never realized that mugs were part of the DDP?!? Did that start just this year? If not, we have been missing out on the mugs!!:scared1:;)

we are also planning to use the mugs for our meal beverages and get bottled water to bring into the parks. Hubs also loathes using snack credits for drinks, although I loathe how much money we spend on beverages in the parks. It's crazy!! We also get a preferred room so it won't be too far to drop the mugs off to the room before heading to the bus stop.

Mugs are part of the plan starting this year.

However, my experience was that we had to know they were available to us. This past March, we wer not told of the mugs at all upon check-in. You just go to the food court with your KTTW key and pick out yor mugs. Bring them to the cashier, and they will swipe your cards.
