DDP dessert question

i was just going to post a thread on this and would love to know the answer too. does it differ between resteraunts and also desserts? can you just ask if any of the desserts are avaliable to go? thanks

There have been a number of posts on this site indicating that desserts or leftovers can be packed to go at TS meals. In fact several have indicated the servers even suggest it. :cool1:

Keep in mind not all desserts will pack well, so choices may be limited. You'll want to get them stored in the room fairly quickly rather than carry them in the Florida heat.

For example, it won't work with ice cream (although, if your dessert is, say, apple pie with a scoop of ice cream, you can eat the latter and get the pie wrapped for later). It will work with most chocolate cake-type desserts with a warm liquid center - those may not even need to be refrigerated, the center will just harden when it cools. And cheese cake, for example, should be put in the fridge ASAP.

Someone posted not too long ago that some restaurant (I think maybe Olivia's?) wouldn't let them order dessert to go, but did let them order it, take a bite or two, and then ask for a doggie bag for the rest.:confused3

We had no problem getting dessets packed to go. At 50's Primetime Cafe our waitress even had our ice cream sundaes served in large paper cups to go so we could make it Fantasmic. And yeah, cheesecake is an awesome breakfast! It is vacation after all!

I always carry a zip-loc bag with me. That way I don't have to wait for the server to box items, and things are easier to carry in zip-loc bags. Oh-and school bread is great for breakfast!
