Hi, a friend is going arriving on Oct. 28 and checking out Nov. 4. She has booked through AAA and was told that they will get 8 days of dining credits. She said her package came with 8 day hoppers and that she was told that they will get 8 full days of dining plan credits because they have the 8 day hoppers. Is this correct? I thought you would get 7 days of dining based on staying 7 nights, regardless of the number of days on your park passes. They would arrive at about 4:00 on the 28th and leave by noon on the 4th. Can anyone clarify if this is correct? :confused3

You're right - it doesn't matter how many days on a hopper you have, it's based on how many nights you stay. She will have 7 nights worth.

That's what I thought, but she swears that AAA told her she is getting 8 TS, 8 CS and 8 snack credits for her, her husband and two of her kids aged 4 and 6.

She has another child aged 14 not on the DDP. That one will be staying in a room with another family member, also not on the DDP. She thought that she could give the older kid one of the younger kids' resort card so that she could use it for herself or they could share their food with her. I told her that she couldn't do that, but she doesn't want to add another person at the adult DDP price.

I'm assuming that the 14 y/o is on someone else's room reservation, since everyone in a room has to be on the DDP. You get credits based on the number of nights you are staying..so, she gets 7 table service, 7 counter, 7 snacks per person. I think this is yet one more case of TA's not getting it right. I believe, but am not 100% sure of this, that each person's room card will have their 'classification' for DDP on it..child, adult. Yes, the credits are pooled, but I'm not sure that you could give a resort room card that was for a child, to an older child who would be considered an adult. That could be an embarrassing situation for your friend. She should just get the 14 y/o his own card and pay the $266 for his dining.

I completely agree. The older child will be staying in another room with another relative. The other relative isn't on the dining plan so that part is fine. They are staying at a value, so they can only do the four in a room. I had told her about the dining plan and she thought it was a great idea, but doesn't want to pay for the older child. She doesn't feel he would eat enough food. I agree it would be embarrasing if something is said. I just got back from wdw 2 days ago. We did not do the dining plan but ate out just about every night and with our DDE card and with some AMEX dining cards(thanks to a points reward cash out) we spent lees than the dining plan would have cost us. I edited my original post because I would like to direct her to this board, and even though I have mentioned this issue to her, I didn't want her to be offended that I discussed it with thousands of strangers on a message board. :)
