DDP credit questions

I understand that a QS credit can be used for an entree, drink, and dessert, and that the sides are interchangeable. So essentially, you can use your QS credit for 3 desserts, or 3 sides, etc. My questions is, are you able to do this at a snack-only type location? Like at the kiosks, or locations that don't serve meals? For example, can I use a QS credit at Karamelle-Kuche in Germany, and purchase 3 snacks? Or are their systems only set up to accept snack credits?

Also, I think I already know the answer to this one, but want to confirm. Can snack credits be used to purchase an alcoholic beverage? For example, a maragarita at a kiosk, or the dole whip with rum in AK?

someone else will chime in on the first but I'm pretty sure you can use it for 3 snacks at many locations (you can for sure at the various festival food booths, and also I have heard of people doing this in gift shops to buy snacks to bring home with leftover credits). So I'm not sure you can do it EVERYWHERE but You can do it in some places that don't also serve QS meals, but it not the best use of credits.

to answer your second... sadly... no. no alcoholic beverages on DDP at all.

The brochure says you can switch your drink/dessert portion of the QS for a snack. You're supposed to still get the entree part. The QS to 3 snacks does work at most places, but not all, and it can change depending on who is working. It never hurts to ask wherever you want to try it, and it never hurts to ask for a manager if you're told no the first time. But they don't have to do it.

As Lisa F. said, it is not a good use of a credit unless you're in a use it or lose it position. Something is better than nothing, but those QS credits are worth $18-20, so choose your snacks carefully.

Thank you @sharonabe ! It will be a use it or lose it type situation, there's just no room for another QS in our plans, and DF said to just let it go to waste. At least this way I can get some goodies to take home out of it!

If you are not on free dining and you know upfront you won't use all the credits, you might want to crunch the numbers and not use the plan. Even if you just put aside what you would have spent on the plan and spend that on food you may work out ahead.
