DDP counter service meals for kids

When ordering counter service meals for kids on the DDP do you have to order off the kids menu? Last year at Disney we noticed that all the CS meals we got seemed to come off of the same tally whether we got them for adults or kids so I'm wondering if we could just order 1 adult meal for our 2 kids to share. They rarely finish a whole kid's meal each anyway.

The person working the cash register at a CS restaurant is supposed to specificially look at your resort card and see how many child and adult credits you are entitled to and only sell you meals according to those credits. But, yes, the CS credits are pooled on the receipt and not separated like TS credits on a receipt.

Exactly this. We have 2 adults and 2 kids in our family. At the Backlot Express last summer, the kids didn't like anything on the menu. They wanted to share a hot dot (which, surprisingly enough, was an adult option). The CM would not let us order 3 adult meals because our card said 2A, 2C. So we ate somewhere else.

There will be people who will say they have been allowed to do so, or they "work the system" in a way that they can pull it off, but Disney wants you to use child credits on child meals.
