DH and friends are coming down for Marathon weekend. Three of the four are arriving Thursday AM early and departing Tues late. One friend is arriving Thurs late and departing Monday late, thus not needing park tix on Thurs or Tues.

They would all like to be on the dining plan. We know that all people must be on the DDP for the entire length of stay. That's fine. We could use the extra dining credits for other meals NOT used by our late-arriving friend. So, it's no big deal for that friend to pay for 5 days of DDP. BUT, can that friend get 5 days of DDP while only purchasing 4 days of park tickets????

Does that make sense? Have I explained it well enough? Do the days of DDP and the days of park tickets have to match??

If it is a DVC stay booked through Member Services the DDP is not tied to park tickets. You may purchase any park ticket media you wish.

Since you're posting this in the DVC board, Chuck's post probably covers it. For DVC stays booked through member services, you don't buy a package; you simply add the DDP to your reservation. You buy your tickets separately, and can get them for however many days you want.

If, by some chance, you're not talking about a DVC booking, you can still do what you want with a Magic Your Way package. To get the DDP for packages booked through CRO, your package needs to include the room, park tickets, and DDP. The DDP needs to be for every person in the room for every night of the reservation. The tickets work differently, though. Everyone needs to have a park ticket, and all park tickets need to be for the same number of days, but you get to pick how many days the tickets will have on them. It's not tied to the length of your stay.

In your case, you'd buy a package with 4-day tickets. After you've checked in and received your room keys, the members of your party who are staying the extra day would then stop at a ticket window, guest relations location, or concierge to add a day to their ticket. You can upgrade individual tickets -- they're no longer tied together at this point, so you'd have some 4-day tickets and some 5-day tickets. The upgrade would cost you $3 (plus tax) per ticket.
