DDP - Can you exchange TS credit for CS?

Sorry if this has been asked a million times...I thought I had read where some CS will accept a TS credit. True? If so, is this standard practice, or more of an exception? We have a week booked with FD. My inlaws are coming too, but only staying 4 nights. The way we are scheduled right now, they will likely not be able to use 1 TS credit....can they use that credit towards a CS when we get CS? TIA!

If you have the Deluxe dining plan you can use 1 credit for either. If you are on the regular dining plan, you can use 1 TS credit for 1 counter service, however not all the check-out counters know how to ring you out. It is best to ask before ordering. For the most part you shouldn't have any problems.

New for this year, ALL of the CS restaurants on property will accept a TS credit for a CS meal.

Has this been added back to the brochure? I know it was in there early 2012, then it was out again with a recent revision.

Has anyone had any recent experience, especially in the parks? Food courts at resorts have never been a problem for this "downgrade" but the CM checkout in France Dec 2011 said there was no way for her to be able to redeem a TS meal via her register so we had to pay OOP and waste 3 TS credits, as we were headed to the airport shortly after.

No, it was removed from the early version of the brochure to make room for other information, but several posters have posted direct responses to emails sent to Disney asking this exact question. The response from Disney was that it is allowed anywhere on property as a straight 1 for 1 trade.

We are looking at going NEXT October, which is traditionally free dining. We will be staying at POFQ, so we would be eligible for the dining plan with QS, TS and snack.

I know we will only be interested in TS, maybe once, if at all. So if I'm reading this correctly we CAN substitute TS meals for CS meals? TIA!

As long as they don't change anything between now and next year, then yes, you could eat only 1 TS meal and the rest could be QS meals.

We did this on 8/30 at Pinnochio Haus We asked the cashier if we could and he said no. It was getting late and my kids were starving(our last day there). We did not want to find a table service so we asked a manager there and he said we could. We went back to the cashier and told him this. However he could not take our order because he did not know how. We had to wait on another line to do it.

Long story short, you can but make sure the cashier knows how! Oh and don't eat at Pinnochoi Hausa...it's nasty!
