DDP + AP + TIW

Trying to figure out if a dining plan is worth it for this trip. I’ll have an AP discount and TIW card, for the first time.

1. I know the TIW discount can be used for up to 10 people. Is the AP discount only good for me?
2. Can you use the TIW discount at the same meal as DDP? For example, use a DDP credit for meal + 1 drink, then use TIW discount toward an appetizer, any additional drinks, etc?

1. AP Discount is valid for the Passholder and up to three (3) Guests.
2. Yes and have done it.

Me personally, DDP is not worth it if you have TiW. It allows you to eat what you want to eat which we found always came out much less than DDP. But I haven't crunched math details since DDP added alcohol and removed dessert from QS and replaced with snack. Both those are pluses that would help the end dollar, I just have not worked it to see how it plays out. I'm still not inclined to get DDP again, just do it my way with TiW.

Yep- I agree! TIW allows you to eat how you want to!

In relation with the option to combine TIW and DDP, my doubt is how tiw discount is calculated in that cases, only on the price of the food or beverages not covered by the DDP or on the total price of the food and beverages even including that covered by DDP? If it was the second case the TIW discount would cover the total tip and it could be fantastic

Please someone who had combined both DDP and TIW please explain it to us

The TIW discount would only be applied to whatever you are paying OOP; it would NOT apply to the dining plan portion.

TiW doesn't offer many QS or DS restaurants. I like the flexibility it offers over DDP.

Disney doesn't allow "double dipping" on any discounts, so you're not really combining DDP and TiW.

You will be given two bills at the end of the meal...one for the portion covered by the ddp, and another one for the portion you'll use the TiW discount for. The TiW bill will have an 18% gratuity automatically included on it. The bill covered by the ddp will not have an automatic gratuity, unless you're a party of 6 or more...so you'll need to tip accordingly for that portion as well.

Thank you very much for all your comments , I think that I have understood what is the way that DDP and TIW would function togheter. I don’t see too many interested combining both offers.
