I am thinking about doing the DxDDP for the first night of our stay. (We have one night in a studio followed by another 4 nights in a 1BR.)
Our flight was initially scheduled to arrive at 5:30pm, but now, it won't arrive until 8:30pm. I was going to plan for an 8pm dinner at Boma, but that is not possible now. Since I have no intention of trying to use 3 credits the next day, I am trying to figure out a plan.
We wanted (and still want) to eat breakfast at Boma and dinner at LeCellier on the second day with the DxDDP. We would eat at those restaurants regardless of whether or not we do a DDP. So, here is my question:
If we order one adult and one kid's meal from room service, will that deduct 2 adult and 2 child credits from our allotment? I was thinking of just eating in our room on our arrival night, since they serve until midnight. If that is the case, we will still have 4 adult and 4 child credits to use the next day and we can still eat at Boma and LeCellier. But, since there are 4 people (2A, 2C) on our reservation, would they deduct the 2 credits per person?
EDITED: I looked at the various online descriptions of what is included in in-room dining and I have found that they specify that 2 ADULT TS credits will be redeemed for PIZZA DELIVERY, but there is no mention of what is required for "in-room dining".
I was looking at the menu for AKL's in-room dining and I am sure that our kids could easily split a meal (if they are even still awake!) and DH and I could split one too. We could always bring chips or something in our carry-on's to supplement the meal. I am just trying to figure out a way to use at least one meal's worth of credits on our arrival night. We are using DME and I am not sure if we would get to the resort before Mara closes. Otherwise, I would have no problem eating there. If we can't use up a meal on our arrival, I think we may end up skipping the plan and just paying OOP for the meals we want. It is more to our advantage to use the DxDDP since the meals at Boma and LeCellier would cover the cost of the plan alone. The third meal, mugs and snacks are just bonuses, but we would be buying them anyways so it saves us money to do the plan.
TIA!

They think it is so cool to have someone bring their food right into their room. We made the mistake (it was my brilliant idea) to order room service last summer when we were at Six Flags. We'd just got back from a day at the park. We were tired, sunburned and starving. The thought of fast food wasn't appealing, but neither was the thought of trying to deal with overstimulated and exhausted children at a dine in restaurant. So, we decided to order the "fancy" food from room service. We enjoyed the meal without having to worry about the girls' behavior.
