I found an interesting restriction today. If you dine at a non Disney controlled restaurant IE Wolfgang Pucks, You may not use your Points to do take away. At least that is what Wolfgang Puck's Cafe Manager told me this evening. Apparently three is different rules for Disney and Non-Disney controlled restaurants. I was encouraged to go do take away at Express. Now maybe the manager did not want me adding to his stress.

He also told me that you can not take your left overs away with you either at a participating non disney controled restaurant. Once again this is just what the manager told me

He might be lying for whatever reason. He might be telling the truth. I was sad regardless. There are many legitimate reasons for doing take away on the plan not limited to personal preference at eat in your room, Inability to get ressies (a huge problem right now), One member of party is sick, ect

Are you saying they wouldn't allow you to get a doggy bag, or they wouldn't permit you to carry out an entire meal (i.e. order and take the food with you without actually eating at the restaurant).

I could understand if they don't allow full meal takeout (there are some Disney restaurants that don't permit this either, Olivia's is one). But to say you can't have a doggy bag for leftovers?

These rules were for the sit down service in Cafe. I was told No Doggy Bags in addition to no take away. This was told to me by the manager who was clearly dressed differently than the rest of the staff. If it had just been no take away I would of eaten a little bit of each course and taken the rest home. I just wanted to take the food away so I could lay in bed where I was comfy.

For the past 3 years we have take our desserts back to the room. from WGPs Cafe If you are entitled to a dessert or an entree, it's yours :carry a stryrofoam box in and if they say no use your own box.

We took our leftovers from WGP Cafe just this past July. I don't see why you were not allowed to take your desserts or leftovers. However, I think the idea that you will not be eating at the restaurant MEANS no tipping to the waitstaff? Maybe that's the reason that the manager came up with this lame excuse.

Yes, I will be carrying some containers underneath the stroller from now on. I WILL take my leftovers, hmmph.

Hang on a minute I went to WDW with my sister and her triplets, the girls didn't fancy a dessert and the waiter suggested a take away dessert to be eaten later and we where on the dining plan!

and they packed up my daughter's Cobb Salad and two of our desserts for us. No mention of any restriction. Maybe it depends on the server.

We were there last month, DD didn't touch her entree and I had half a plate of fettucine left and the server asked if we wanted to take our leftovers.
