DDP and DVC

No, I'm not asking if I can get it free during Disney's free dining promotion

Have some friends going to WDW on my points and they want to get the DDP. Their DD is 2 1/2 and won't need a ticket for admission. Can they purchase the kid DDP for her? I thought I read somewhere that DDP needs to have a ticket but maybe not for DVC. Can't remember what I read before. Please help.

I think you have to buy for all people in your room for all days your there . I don't see why you couldn't buy for their daughter . I don't think you need to have tickets to buy it . But you do need tickets to get into the parks which isn't a problem if she's getting in free .

I though the DDP was money well spent and saved about $50 per day with it

They say you have to be 3 to get the dining plan. If you ask the right person though they will let you get it.

You can buy the DDP without tickets on a DVC reservation. For the little one, they could only get the DDP if they say she is 3. I don't think it's necessary given what 2 year olds normally eat and the fact that they are free anyway at buffets and can eat from their parents plates for free too. Doesn't seem worth $17 a day to me. Plus then her age will be wrong with Disney on future trips and eventually you'll probably have to get that resolved correctly.

You will have to add the DDP for your friends with Member Services and pay for it in full when booking it. Must be 48 hours or more in advance of the reservation.
