DDP and DVC 2010

I've got the DDP noted on our reservation. If I decide to upgrade to Deluxe DDP, can I do it at check in or do I have to do it in advance? And if in advance, how many days before for DVC stays in 2010? I can't imagine Disney turning down more money at check in, but there may be a rule.

Any changes to the dining plan must be made with MS at least 48 hours prior to your arrival date.
