Suppose I pop into Main Stret Bakery for a piece of carrot cake and a soda? Fountainview Bakery for a muffin and coffee? Boulangerie pastrie for a Peach Tart and tea? These aren't really snack items, since Disney defines snack items as ice cream, popcorn, or soda; yet this isn't an entire counter-serve selection, no main course. So how is it viewed on the DDP? Or do I have to pay for these stops myself, not on the plan?

I believe you can use a CS credit to pay for it, definitely not a snack credit (well, the coffee or soda could be considered a snack if you bought the right size). If you're going to have extra CS, I would use them to keep from wasting them. Otherwise, you're better off dealwise to pay out of pocket.

So the way I understand it is that I would have to either blow an entire CS credit or I could pay cash, since bakery items aren't counted as snacks, is that right? I kind of figured that would be the case, but I wasn't sure. Thanks! Is that the same with Dole Whips and Strawberry Swirls, or are those considered snacks?

From what Ive read those items wouldnt be considered part of snack credit. The list they give for those items is pretty limited. I have read that it sometimes at the discretion of the CM at the counter tho, so I guess there is a little leeway. Im not sure how many SC we will use on our trip since were not into snacking on chips and things so much...will have to see...trip in 11/06.

you can get fruit for SC, at least it's more healthier than chips or soda.
oh and bring a few of those Brita Fill & Go Water Filtration Bottle and save on bottled water.

Sorry, Simba's Mom, I was away from the computer for the holiday. Yes, what you said is correct, even for the Dole Whips and Strawberry Swirls.

The quick stops you describe would be out of pocket...... The disney site has a page on the Dining Plan that describes exactly what you can get for each credit. The snack credits are pretty limited, but you can always get a drink. If you can get fruit now, that's cool and I look forward to that. :) We didn't use all of our snack credits, so on the way out of the resort on the way to the airport, I stocked up on drinks and snacks for the trip home, which worked out very well.
