I have a few questions...

Does each person in the party get an appetizer and Dessert?

If it says its for 2 does that mean you have to each use your appetizer or can they make it for 1?

If you have dinner with some one who doesn't have DDP will they let them share as long as they order there own meal.

Just want to make sure I understand before we go.

The regular dining plan doesn't come with an appetizer. Do you have the Deluxe plan?

On the deluxe plan -- Yes, each person gets their own.

Yes, if it says "for 2" -- most restaurants will make you combine 2-credits to get it.

You aren't supposed to share DDP with non-DDP guests. That said, if they order their own meal, and you're just talking about passing the appetizers around a little bit, I don't think you'd be stopped or questioned.

On the "for two" items... most places will allow two guests to combine the credits for a "for two" item. Some will allow a single guest to get it with their single entitlement. Some restaurants (such as Raglan Road, I believe, if I've read the reports correctly) do not allow "for two" items to be ordered with dining plan credits.

Some of this seems to come down to location/date/server, so always be prepared to not hear the answer you'd otherwise expect.

Technically, the letter of the plan says that you aren't supposed to share with guests not on your reservation. I think that the spirit is being upheld just fine in the case you describe, where everyone is ordering (and paying for) their own meal, and there's some "sharing" and "sampling" from each others' plates going on. It's highly doubtful any restaurant will try to prevent that in any event. The policy is meant to keep you from ordering meals for other folks, or letting them join the table as "free riders".

Remember that neither appetizers nor desserts are included at breakfast, even on the deluxe plan.
