We used the dining plan from August 26th to September 3rd, stayed at the Wilderness Lodge. There were 4 of us, 2 adults, 1 child, and 1 infant.

We planned to pay out of pocket for 2 or 3 table service meals, since we prefer more table service meals.

Here's where we ate for table service:

Tony's for dinner -- food was okay, service was good

Hollwood and Vine Play N Dine for lunch -- food was okay, meatballs from the kids choices was probably our favorite item. Service was good, our server swiped our card for our credits as soon as we told her we were on the dining plan.

Whispering Canon for dinner -- we all had the skillet. Food was excellent, service was excellent.

Biergarten for lunch -- food was very good as usual, service was good.

Le Cellier for lunch -- food was very good, service was good. We both had the filet and DS had the chicken -- DS was quite disappointed tha the menu said chicken nuggets but he got chicken strips.

Sci Fi for lunch -- paid out of pocket for this one. Food was okay. I liked my food better than DH. I had a chicken sandwich and DH had the ham sandwich. Service was good. We just like this place for atmosphere.

Concourse Steakhouse for dinner -- food was good. I had the New York Strip and DH had the filet. Creme brulee was excellent as usual. Service was very good.

Rose & Crown for lunch -- paid out of pocket for this one. Food and service were very good. I had the chicken pasty and DH had the bangers and mash

Ohana's character breakfast -- food was okay, service was good. Character interaction was very good. We ordered smoothies since they came with the dining plan. We didn't really want them as weren't that hungry but we figured we'd boost her tip a bit. They were quite good but we didn't even finish 1/4 of the smoothies.

Liberty Tree for dinner -- food was good, service was a bit slow but there was a large party nextg to us that our server was also assigned to.

For counter service, we ate at the Roarking Forks quite a bit. We also ate at Wolfgang Puck Express at DD, Cosmic Rays (don't know why we go back there -- we never like it), Boulangerie Patisserie (sp?).

At Boulangerie, we used our counter service credits for pastries. I asked what counted and I was told 1 salty, 1 pastry, and 1 regular drink OR 2 pastries and 1 regular drink. We had just had lunch so I opted for 2 pastries of course. DH tried 10 minutes later and was told he couldn't have 2 pastries until he told them that his wife was just told differently. They were very specific about the "regular" drink though. They kept repeating it over and over that it was almost comical.

At other places that had large drinks (like Cosmic Ray's), I noticed you could specify large drink as part of the counter service credit. But I noticed Roaring Forks didn't even have large drink cups out. We had mugs so I didn't bother asking if any large drink cups were available. We mostly got orange juice or chocolate milk for drinks with the counter service credits at Roaring Forks.

We use our snack credits for ice cream, soup, fruit, muffins, but we still had 11 service credits on our last day. We went to the Confectionary at MK and tried to use up most of them there. At the Confectionary, all food/drink items $4 and under counted as snack credits except for the coffee beans. At Roaring Forks and the WL mercantile, almost all food/drink items under $4 counted. Note on the chips -- WL mercantile has the large bags of lay's potato chips and smart food popcorn that count as snack credits. This is a better deal than getting the snack size bags at the kiosks or food courts (unless of course you want the on-the-go size you can throw away).

This is our second time on the dining plan. We had the dining plan once in 2005, and we took one other trip this year without the dining plan. We definitely prefer traveling with the dining plan, we just didn't want to buy more 1 day base tickets on our last trip. We have APs and we were on a split stay. We just bought into DVC so we're quite excited about being able to buy the dining plan without having to buy passes.

Would you mind going into more details about the H&V lunch? We have an ADR in a couple of weeks and there haven't been a lot of reviews about it yet. Did you by any chance notice any vegetarian options?

Thanks!

Thanks for all the info. I plan on getting milk as our drinks when we eat at Roaring Forks to use the next morning in our cereal we bring from home.

Sorry, I didn't pay attention to the vegetarian options on the H&V lunch, but the ceasar salad was good. We had lunch on our 2nd day there, so I don't remember everything. Here's what else I remember -- some type of pot roast, sandwich meat and cheese, spoon bread, chicken dish. The kid's counter had mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, bbq meatballs. Desserts were key lime cheesecake, ice cream, brownies. There were more main meal and dessert options but I'm sorry, I can't remember.

Thanks! This meal is all about JoJo for us. DD is a fanatic. As long as she has a good time and I can have a cheese sandwich and a brownie, we will all be happy. :)
