DDP – Buffets – kid’s meal question

If we’re on the DDP and dining at a buffet meal, are children restricted to the “Kids’ Buffet” section or can I mix & match on DD’s plate? She’ll be 4 when we go, so one of the parents will stay at the table with her while the other goes & gets food.

For example, say we’re having dinner at Chef Mickey’s – could I get her some chicken fingers & mac & cheese from the kids’ section, then also get some pasta salad and a bit of carved roast beef from the adults’ section? (Note – these are generic “buffet type” foods out of my own head and may or may not bear any resemblance to actual offerings. But you get the idea.) Or would her plate have to be filled exclusively from the kids’ section and then if she wanted to try the pasta salad and roast beef it would have to be off one of the adults’ plates? (I’m assuming that as long as we pay for everyone, Disney doesn’t actually care who eats off what plate.)

Thanks!

Absolutely!! One reason we are doing a number of buffets with our kids because our oldest is still 9 but enjoys more grown up selections, and your youngest is 2 and eats for free.

Anyone at the buffet may get food from any section of the buffet. Adults from the kid's section, kids from the adult's section. No problem.

These separate sections exist merely for convenience -- grouping the "kid friendly" food in one place so that the typical get can get his or her choices without going through the full line. I think in some places, these are places on lower tables so the kids can see the food before it gets dished out.

It is true that anyone can eat from any of the stations.

It is a way to introduce the kids to other foods and dishes, than mac/cheese and nuggets, without wasting $$.

Last time we were there I seen a mom and her ~7yr old daughter going thru and getting the clams, salmon and a "fancy" pasta dish. The little girl was excited to be eating "grown up" food. :)

Yup:thumbsup2

Imagine the nightmare the CMs would have if they had to "police" if you let your 4 year old have a piece of roast beef. :goodvibes

:thumbsup2 And to ensure that your children eat something else besides those kids meals during their trip. ;)

I have often taken something from the kids buffet for myself too. The kids fare is only there as the average child tends to go for more plain food. Enjoy. Buffets are best when you have kids 9 and under :)
