We're trying to decide if its worth it to do the DDP. (I'm still not sure because we're going for F&W-- we like to "eat around the world" a few times, so may not be able to take advantage of all of those sit down meals).

I've seen mention of a DDE. WHat exactly is it? How do you get it? What are its benefits?

Thanks.

Disney Dining Experience card for Annual Passholders or Florida Residents.

Are you a passholder?

DDE is 20% off meals .. mostly table service. I like it better then the dining plan because we don't eat much counter service or order that much food. If you don't think you would be using table service, the DDE might not be for you.

We love our DDE card, but will not be renewing it till right before our trip in March 07. We added it up and won't get out money back for our trip during the F&W Fest, so we'll just wait and will have it for our March 07 and Jan 08 trip. With the DDE card, the more trips you can use it the better!

Here's a link to info from Deb's site. There's info on this site too, but I couldn't find it as quickly..

I'm thinking of becoming a passholder this year. Do you have to pay extra for the DDE card?

Also, is it good at all resturants or is there a list somewhere? And am I correct in reading the posts that its only good for sit-down meals?

Thanks :goodvibes

I just edited my post to add a link that will answer these questions. :)

We love it but it may depend on your eating style. My family and I tend to stay at the world for 10-11 days so over the course of that time we eat quite a few TS meals, generally 2 a day. For a family of 4 (our kids are teenage boys who definitely eat an adult size portion) that adds up to quite a bit of savings. We're not big fast food eaters so the CS credit on the DDP would go to waste for us. We also like adult beverages with our meals and with the DDE card the 20% is for the entire bill including alcohol.

I usually go to WDW solo, but sometimes eat meals with friends or family members. I figure I at least broke even last year. I will be at WDW solo for 5 days in Oct., and for 9 days in Nov./Dec. with family members. I also like to "graze" around the Food and Wine Festival booths, so IF I get DDE again, it would be for my Nov. trip, in hopes that it wouldn't expire until the end of November 2007.

A bonus (at least in my mind anyway) is that's it's very easy to use. No worries about CS/TS credits, sharing meals, paying OOP, etc. Just present the card and you are good to go.

It also includes alcoholic beverages AND valet parking at any restaurant where you use the card is free!!

One of our favorite perks! :thumbsup2

Ok, I just received our AP vouchers (cards), in the mail for our trip to WDW from 12/3-8. I want to order the DDE card, but have it activated for this trip (Dec, 06) , and that we can use it for next years trip. i.e Dec to Dec.

My question is when should I call for the card so that it arrives prior to us leaving (12/3) for Orlando, and that we get the full 12 months (Dec - Dec), on the card? Hope this dosen't confuse anyone..... :confused3

Thanks, Bob
