DDE (TiW)Savings for 5 day trip with an annual pass???

What are your feelings for a party of 4...does anyone think it's worth it to pay the $60 for a 5 night stay? I will be heading back down in October, with a larger group of people but am not sure if its worth the money...any guidance is appreciated! Thanks!

In my experience, yes even for a party of 4 the DDE/TiW is worth it If you'll be going on a 2nd trip within a year, your savings will just keep adding up. The card is good for up to 10 people dining together & is good on "adult beverages"

The 1st time we got it, it paid for itself in 2 1/2 days and everything after that was pure savings. That was for DH & I and our 2 kids who were still eating kids meals most of the time. We got 2 trips (10 & 5 nts) out of it and we renewed this year without a second thought

The card costs $60 and you get a 20% discount. So you only have to spend $300 to cover the cost. With a party of 4, you should see a profit by your 3rd dinner. And it's good for an entire year, so it'll still be valid on your October trip.

Yes. It is very worth it if you eat TS on a regular basis. It should pay for itself in 2 or 3 meals (depending on where you eat).

I went with a friend in July and the card paid for itself before the end of that trip. I then returned this December, and am going again 2 more times before it expires. All of those trips are the cherry on the cake, so to speak. And it includes wines, beer, etc.

YES, ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT!! DH and I have used this for years and it is absolutely worth it. It pays for itself in a few dinners and after that it is all gravy.

They have recently added a manadatory 18% gratuity which is automatically added to your bill, no matter what your party size. So if you normally do the standard 15% you are paying 3% more bringing your true discount to 17%.

I have had this card for years I was probably a charter member. Every year they seem to decrease the number of restaurants that will accept it and now the gratuity change.

If you think you can make the $60 back plus in the discounts then it is definitely worth the price.

The first time my DW and I purchased the card, I believe it paid for itself if about 5 days, and that's just with two adults. IMHO it's a great deal.

And now you can just pick the card up and most of the CS locations vs the old days were if you let your card expire you had to carry about a printed letter to present until your new card arrived.

5 day park hopper = $289.68

You indicate that you are going down for two trips so it may be cost effective for you but for anyone considering buying it for just one trip may not even come close to breaking even. AP for just one trip to get the TIW (cost $60) you need to spend enough to cover the cost of the card ($300) but also the additional cost for the pass ($1050 - 20% of the difference in ticket cost - $210).

If you are planning multiple trips in one year, and have already decided that an AP is going to be your ticket of choice, then the TIW may save you money (if you choose to eat in table service restaurants).

If the AP is worth it for you, and if you will do enough TS anyway, it is a money saver.

We usually eat 2-4 signature dining meals per trip, drink wine, valet at the resorts, so the savings really add up for us pretty quickly. Plus we usually have at least one or two meals with a larger group of adults and that one dinner usually pays for the card. (BTW for the big group, the bill has to be on one check for the discount to apply, but the card will cover up to 10 people.) FWIW.
