Does anyone know why the only place you can pick up a DDE temp. card is at the front of EPCOT? This is such an inconvience if the card doesn't come on time. Are there any other options?

because they say so.

that's the only thing i can think of.

I had to do this in December, in addition to trading our vouchers for our AP, and the CM actually got up, went to the back, and got an envelope with the temp card. My name was handwritten on the front. Not really a space-age processing system for the temp cards.

I'm guessing it wouldn't be very efficient to let people schedule pick-ups at five different places.

As a side note, the CM didn't know what I was talking about when I said I need to pick up "my APs." I had to say "annual passes." Either she needs to spend more time on the DIS, or I need to spend less time on it. :lmao:

LOL - that happened to me too!:lmao: :lmao: The CM looked at me like I had two heads when I said AP.:rotfl2:

At least you made me chuckle.

Thanks. I will hope for AP rates this summer and a DDE card that will arrive before we leave. I can dream can't I? Isn't this the year of a million dreams. :lmao:

The only option I can think of is to order it at least a month in advance. My last card took just under 3 weeks. You may have to give up a month of usuage and only get it for 12 months vs 13 months (bonus if you time it correctly), but at least it won't be inconvienent for you. Since EPCOT is all about the food (food and wine, dining experience specials, chef events, ...) the DDE is based around WS and is all about the "dining experience". This would be why the DDE card it there for pickup--guess if they could only choose one place, this was the correct choice.

How do you time it to get 13 months?

If you order it early in the month it will not expire until one year from the next month. For example, I ordered mine early September and received it before the end of September, but instead of it expiring Sept 07, it doesn't expire until Oct 07. It depends on when you order it. If you order it mid-September and got it the beginning of October, it would expire the end of October the next year. When you call the DDE office they have been known to tell people to wait another day or so before ordering to get a better length of time. Hope this makes sense. But remember that the DDE office is open only during business hours, so Monday to Friday 9:00-5:00 (or 4:00 not sure) and closed on weekends.

I believe if you order it on the 4th of the month (or after) it will expire at the end of the following month. We just ordered ours on April 4, 2007. The CM told me it would expire at the end of MAY 2008.
