::MickeyMo Hey All! Just back from using the wonderful DDE card! Saved about $150.00 AFTER the cost of the card. Fabulous! Definitely worth the money! ::MinnieMo

WOW! That's great! :flower:

::MickeyMo I know! Everytime I looked at a bill I was surprised. I couldn't believe we saved that much! Even with the character buffets, say LTT, it saved us $9.00 there alone. Crazy. Oh yeah. And only once were we asked for ID. At it was at our resort food court, go figure. ::MinnieMo

hoping to save w/DDE during this Aug vacation
Its only DS & myself but we have 21 PSs!

DDE is the Disney Dining Experience. It is a card that is available to Florida residents for $75.00 or to AP holders for $50.00. You need to call the DDE phone number Mon-Fri 9-5 to sign up. It takes from 4-6 weeks to get your card in the mail. I have heard that DDE is not emailing letters anymore. If you are eligible for it, I would ask at the time of sign up if there is something they can do for you.

It allows you a 20% discount on your meal bill for most Disney restaurants (they will give you a list) for up to 10 guests and includes alcohol.

I use mine all the time and have easily saved the value of the card.

I have always just presented my ID with my card so I cannot tell you if a CM will ask for ID.

You mentioned needing an ID- I just ordered my cards, but they didn't ask for my husband's name. Are our names on the cards, or do they just need either the FL license or AP to prove that you have that status to have a card in the first place?
TIA

When I used it on my trip earlier this month, I just handed them the card, they did not ask for ID. But they do reserve the right to ask for ID at any time.

I got the DDE card in February and used it in Feb,again in April and will use it again for my trip in October.
I have saved the cost of the card and maybe a few dollars more. I travel Solo and IMHO the DDE card is well worth the price paid.

That's good news! We are a family of five and I hope to save a lot on our 12 day trip in June.

So, the DDE costs $50.00 for AP people. One per family, right? And, is it good for one year? Sounds like a good deal to me!

When I got my DDE, they asked for DW's name. Her card is in her name. They may have changed it since February.

Now that DDE cards are available to AP holders, you would only need your state's DL if asked. You don't need your AP or a FL driver license.

It saved me a ton, also. And I'm getting 3 trips out of it! It has already paid for itself, and then some :cool1:

I called last week an recieve a letter in the mail yesterday to bring to the parks :) she also said it should only take 2-3 weeks to get my card - I know people here were saying 8 weeks, this may be b/c I'm a floridian :confused3 anyway I am so excited so thanks for the tip!

mmm... yeah... cause you are a Floridian....
I live just north of WDW and it took just over 8 weeks. (And mine was a renewal.)
Those on the east coast technically received their cards before I received mine since they are closer to the PA company who mails the cards.
But it could be DDE is finally getting a handle on their volume increase. :confused3
I would count on 8 weeks for now. And if it is any less, consider yourself lucky.

My cards were mailed to my Deltona house and took about 8 weeks (maybe I should have tried my Mass house ).

If you got yours in less time, then DDE must be getting better organized. They were extremely nice and helpful, just very slow.

we figured that the first time i use the dde card that we will save with the discount the initial cost of the card and with 6 sit down dinners planned i know we will save quite a bit of money. excellent deal the DDE card is. i hope they keep it :mickeybar :mickeybar

well I just got the letter LOL it says I am eligible on the letter though so I'm not too worrieed about how long the card takes :cool1:

Ours took eight weeks but a CM said the long wait time was due to a crush of requests for the card, after it was made available to AP's. (It's been available to Floridians for about 8 years).

I noticed the cards were actually mailed to us from a non FL address, so obviously they're using someone to process new cardholders. But hopefully you new people will get them quicker than the 8 weeks it took many of us.

By the way, like so many others, we saved the $50 price of the card on our first WDW stay. So the rest of the year is gravy!
