A couple of DDE questions
If my understanding is correct, DDE can be ordered only in advance, so:

1) to get DDE with AP discount, do you need to have the AP already in your hands or it's possible to buy AP later (when you will use DDE)?
I am planning to order DDE now, and to buy AP when arriving at WDW

2) what is DDE expiration date? 1 year? starting from when ? purchasing date / first usage / pick up of the card ?

You must have an AP or voucher in hand prior to ordering the DDE. The DDE is activated at the time the order is placed, but they have been adding additional time to the expiration (a month or two) to allow for processing and shipping. Your AP will be activated (and your use year begins) when you exchange the voucher for the actual AP at guest services.

You can order the DDE card with an actual AP or with an AP voucher. You can't order it with the intent of purchasing an AP later.

Can you order both via telephone at the same time? We were planning on getting our AP at the Disney Store at the airport before checking in. Can we call instread and get a faxed or email voucher so we can go ahead and order the DDE card and pick it up at Epcot when we arrive - like others are doing?

This is a last minute trip. We just booked 2 days ago and leave on Friday.

No, you can't order both with one call. You can order the AP at the regular reservation number or on line. When you have the voucher in your posession call 407-566-5858 9AM-6PM Mon-Fri for your DDE card. They will ask you when you plan on arriving. If there is enough time they will mail you a confirmation letter that can be used in place of the actual card, just in case the card is not mailed in time for your trip. If there is not enough time they will tell you to go to Guest Services at Epcot upon arrival to pick up your confirmation letter. The letter will state that you are a member in good standing in the DDE program and give you an expiration date.

I will be upgrading my MYW tickets to APs at the DD Guest Services. I will then call DDE to order my 'card'. The DDE people told me that I could pick it up by 5:30 p.m. at Guest Services at Epcot that very day. Well, they will have a letter for me to pick up not an actual card.

So take your cell phone and order the DDE from the airport after you get your AP.

I hope you're arriving during the week -- Monday through Friday -- because the DDE office is not open on the weekend. And you will need to call during their business hours.
