DDE question

Has anyone called to check the status of their delivery of the DDE card?
I knew it would take anywhere from 4-8 weeks so I ordered at the 8 week mark exactly. I ordered 2/17 and I'm leaving 4/17. I have the e-mail anyway, so I know I'll be fine.
But I just didn't know if I could call them tomorrow or Friday to see if they know if my card is on the way.

I didnt get my card in the 8 week period, so I called and got my card about 8 days later and they extended the expiration date on the card (which I didn't ask for - but I think is standard proceedure - what ever the end of the month is in which its printed is when it expires).

The lady I talked to said there were glitches at times with the new system. Also, she sent me a new email since mine was going to expire before our trip, so be sure your email is dated to be good during your trip, or they will send you a new one!

I am stoked! Aren't you getting VERY excited? We wont be saying "I haven't been home yet" anymore soon!!!

We are not going back until the end of June. So, I was thinking I'd order the card about mid May in hopes that it would be received before we leave. Does that sound about right?

Also, do you need to request the email be sent or is that automatic?

They asked me if I wanted the email when I ordered, so I would wait as long as you can to stretch your DDE The email is perfectly acceptable. Some people even wait til they get there and purchase their APs and then DDE will fax over the letter for you. They are incredibly accomidating.

That's exactly what we are planning on doing....waiting until the day we arrive to get ours. You GOTTA get as much "time" out of that DDE as you can!!!

Hmmm... Thanks, that's a good idea. We are arriving on a Saturday, and I know that it's a Mon-Fri phone call. I think I'll take your advice and call a couple days before we leave. I thought it might be handy to have the card with me, but I can survive with a piece of paper. Since we are planning a few other WDW trips thru the year, making the card last longer is a great plan!

If you bring the letter of confirmation make sure to make a copy of it. Guest services can do this if you pick up the letter at the resort (or have it faxed there). We forgot to get the letter back at one place we used it and didn't realize it until the next day. Having a copy saved us much stress and aggrevation!

I ordered mine on 1/24 and got it around 3/14, so 6 to 8 weeks is accurate.

I have a few copies made, too, just in case. There's still a chance I'll get it before I arrive, though. Hopefully!

I, being the worrier that I am, just called DDE, (and only waited 3 minutes on hold) called the check the status. Mine was processed 3/24 and he said should arrive in 2 weeks. Just in time for trip!

Mine was processed on 3/24 also...I checked my Visa account online and found that out. We're leaving on 4/30...If they told you 2 weeks, that's okay for us. I'm sure they'll be here by the end of the week!!

Yes, make sure, because if you don't get the card by then, you'll certainly need the e-mail.
I called them a few weeks after originally ordering the card, because I hadn't received the e-mail. She then sent one right away.

I ordered my card about second week in Feb. The cm didnt even ask for my email address because she felt I ordered it far enough in advance that I would get the card with no problem. When I didnt get it in todays mail I decided to call because I leave next week and I didnt want to forget about it. The cm said my card was in Pa. and I definetly would not get it for at least 2 more weeks so they took my email and I got the email in about an 1/2 hour. I also took some others advice and printed a few copies to be on the safe side. They were very nice and helpful when I called and thanks to all on the dis boarders who keep us up on all the best info

Does anyone have any insite why these cards take soooo long to arrive? When you order tickets they come quickly. What do you think makes these cards so much more difficult?

Does anyone else think 8 weeks to process these cards is ridiculous? Yeah, when it comes right down to it I'm just glad to get the thing at all but does it really have to take 2 months?
