I was just visiting the AP website and saw the the DDE price for AP holders is now $60 a year. I thought I was mistaken and checked my receipt since I just renewed in December and I paid $65 for 2007. Just a small decrease, but nevertheless with everything going up it's nice to see something drop. (I actually renewed in December for fear that the price would go up in January, but that back fired on me:confused3 ).

Well, I just paid $65 at the DTD Guest Service desk on 1/4/08.

Is there any other places you can pick one up in person? I can't buy my AP until I get to Disney World since I need to apply some unused media towards it.

Thanks.

Perhaps you made the FL resident rate for DDE? If so, that's quite a drop since it used to be $85 I think. Or do you have a regular AP?

Anyway, good news!

I'm debating on whether or not to buy the DDE card. Do you all think it is worth it for a 7 night trip? Not sure when we are heading back after June.

Also, does it include alcoholic drinks too?

We won't be doing the dining plan this time so the DDE card sounds great.

I think it depends on how big your party is. If you have a big family and plan to eat at TS daily, it might be a savings, but only you can crunch the numbers. For us it's a no-brainer, since we get at least 5 trips out of our card and most are for 10 or more days.

I LOVE my DDE, but I am not sure that this will work for you in this instance.

Since you are from PA, you would need to purchase an AP in order to qualify to by the DDE Card.

7 Day Hoppers are $222.00 on Undercover Tourist
Annual Passes are $477.00 from Disney
Difference of $255.00

The cost of the card is $60, which you would need to add to the $255.00 that you're spending extra just to get the AP to be entitled to buy the DDE card, your card is costing you $315.00 right out of the gate.

In order to save $315, you'd need to spend about $1600.00 on food at TS and alcoholic beverages during your 7 day stay.

Now, if you are going for more times in 2008 and you need the annual pass anyway, then you'd only need to spend slightly more than $300 for the card to pay for itself and to begin seeing a savings.

Hey and if you can score an AP discount on a room... adds up to a bigger saving.

I got an AP last February because I was at Disney for 4 days then plus was planning a trip over the summer for another 5 days. I was able to get AP rates for both the summer trip and the trip in February. That alone was worth the cost of the price.
I also purchased the dining card. Just using it in the summer for four of us it more than paid for itself.

No, I got the passholder discount- not the FL Resident discount.

I planned my January 4-7 trip on a whim the day before, January 3rd. I'm positive that on the 3rd the website said $65, because I was debating on if I should buy one and checking the price. And to double check what I paid, I dug out my receipt. It was absolutely $65.
So, this is a very recent price decrease. Perhaps it is a good omen for discounts to come.

ms called me last night and told me that the price dropeed for the dde from $65 to $60. They voided my check and just charged by visa the new price. :) I never expected a price decrease. :cool1:

I got my DDE last Friday night at DTD and it was $60. I didn't know at that time about the price decrease, but it sure was a welcome surprise!!!!

We already have AP's. Do you need to purchase the DDE and AP together? Our AP's expire at the end of July and this trip will be June/July.

You mean this isn't just a typo on the web site? A disney price drop?

What's next? Cats and dogs sleeping together?

As long as you are an AP holder you can purchase your DDE card. They don't have to be purchased together.

It is for real (I checked my receipt to be sure!) and you can buy one any time as long as you have a valid AP. Enjoy!!!!
