DDE card.....

You can purchase the DDE without ordering over the phone now. I bought the card at DTD on the first day of our visit so I could use it for dinner that night. They did make me upgrade my voucher to an annual pass. (I was not in the parks that day and would have preferred to upgrade the next morning.)

What do you mean they made you update the voucher to an AP. I have an AP voucher and will be getting DDE when we go on Feb1st. I am confused by that statement:confused3 . I have asked another place about picking it up there but found you all-Thank you for all the great info. It will be paid for by day 2 for us as we are going to the Spirit of Aloha dinner show on the first night. We save $40 just on that meal alone for the 4 of us!!

Thank you !!!

I think he means that he had to activate his AP (convert voucher to actual pass) in order to purchase the DDE card -- which should not have been unexpected. You have to have a valid, active AP in order to purchase a DDE card.

Okay, I was thinking they increased a price or something. I bought my voucher b/f the prices went up not that long ago. I just wanted everything in hand, plus I wasn't waiting this long to get it in case I didn't get it on time. I figure when I activate the AP, I'll get DDE and our already paid for P&PP tickets!!(I said this already though!! Thank you!

If we are on the meal plan for our next trip.. Can we use the DDE on our drinks that we purchase???????? Also, Can we use it at Vero Beach???????????

Thanks,

Kristin

You can use the DDE card at Vero Beach and I believe you can pay for drinks not included in the DDP with the DDE. I've used mine at VB but never used the DDP; hence the uncertainty :)

We used it for the Spirit of Aloha in Dec and our pre paid cat 1 tickets was 119.83 which included a 14% or 14.5% gratuity and we went to counter and they credited us 119.83 and then charged us 98.87. This revised total also included the gratuity. For some reason I can't find the actual receipt now, but it will be interesting to see how they factor in the now 18% gratuity after 1 Jan 2008 on prepaid meals where a gratuity is all ready included and it's funny the Spirit of Aloha standard gratuity is less than 18%.

Yay!! Thanks! We are normally good tippers due to being previous wait staff way back when in our hometowns!! Been there!
We have 2 ad/2 kids cat 1 tickets that came to about $200(plus tip when we got there), so with DDE it will be about $160 plus tip! Still saves us $40-ish. I am so excited about this trip!!

I have a couple questions, just to clarify. I tried getting some information directly from Disney. I emailed them a question about the DDE and got an email back telling me about the MYW with Dining. Arrrgghhh....very frustrating. So, as usual, I've turned here to actually get some REAL info! LOL. ;)

I have an AP and I am planning on buying the DDE when we get there. Is the 18% grat included on counter service meals as well? On the disney website it says it's included on ALL transactions. So I was just curious.

And I've seen that some people have used it on their Luau/Hoop Dee Doo meals. Can I still use the card for the discount eventhough I've already paid for those shows?

Any info would be GREATLY appreciated. :thumbsup2

Just back and purchased the DDE card while there. I had a party of 10 for 2 meals and a party of 5 for a third meal. Saved a little over $150 with the card. Paid for itself twice over and it's still good for another year!:cool1:

It does not add tip to CS, although there are few CS options for DDE. Basicly it adds tip where you would normally tip....basicly TS and Lounges.

It will work with some shows, but usually just the late show....so not sure if that will work for you. allears.net has some pretty good info, but I don't have the exact link.

Just wondering...if you have an AP and purchase the DDE card (which is good for 1 year, I believe). Can you still use the DDE card after your AP expires, assuming it is not renewed upon expiration?

I was thinking of not renewing our AP's when they expire, since we don't have another trip planned before 6 or 7 months. But I will still be on property after the AP expires.

Yes you can. The AP requirement applies only to your purchase the DDE, not your use of the DDE.

I'm wondering about having my mom (a FL resident) purchase the DDE for me. Can I use the card without her? Do you need to show ID? She would have to purchase it by mail. Any info would be most helpful.

Thanks!!!

The DDE card will be in her name. You may be asked to show your ID when you use it. If she is not with you, it won't be honored.

On our last trip (which was our first with DDE), we were asked to show ID everytime we used the card.
